That snail
is freakishly cute. Have you checked the expiration on your eggnog? Where did this come from? What a trip. The little kid in me loves this romp. Thanks.

Lurv that snail...
This sounds fantastic.... you should do songs for films cartoons etc. Where do you get all your ideas from anyway? LOL This is the fastest snail I've ever known.... but a great ride, cheers M

.
this grew out of the incessant "1 2 3 4 rest" rhythm - i guess i decided to push a few boundaries here, it's 5/4 time at 180 BPM - also i had been reading about microtonal music and some of that snuck in - also i really enjoy the parallel diminished chords in Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy, so some diminished chords appear - and there's some parallel 4ths a la Emerson, maybe I was thinking about Tarkus or something from that time too - the word snorkel amuses me: it's an absolutely silly sounding word!

thank you

Woah!
I am having flashbacks! Halfway through I felt like I was suddenly on a psychedelic roller coaster, much like a trip you can't come down from. Intense,
Stephen
ps You know that saying "If you remember the sixties, you weren't there."? Well they're wrong. Flashback is the memory mechanism of the sixties

Snorkel
The second snorkel song I have heard on MJ, lol. Very trippy stuff here. Freaky sound effects and voices in the background. Very original piece here. For the other snorkel song, check out fleshfest's page. I believe it is called F U Danny Carlson. Pretty funny song.

This goes beyond just a good time
you're messing with my head in a serious way. I'd hazard to say that you've invented a new genre: psychedelicpunktranceprogelectro

two
i was sick and tired of the politics on the forums, so i decided to create a song that is incomprehensible. two. Ziti's forum thread Sunny Como Va http://www.macjams.com/forum/viewtopic.php?forum=4;showtopic=185534 touches on this idea from a different angle.

it's musical dadaism. two. maybe nihilistic? rhythmically the time signature is odd, and some of it repeats in two multi-bar groupings. you can hear there's two or more patterns to it, but the beats per minute is so fast it's hard to count out anything - so it's rather disorienting. two.

ditto for the notes: two i threw in various 1/4 step tones (half-flat or half-sharp notes) so you hear notes and intervals, but it's hard two say what you're hearing. two.

finally the word snorkel means nothing here. two you know that effect if you see a word, say two, over and over, two starts to look strange, like maybe two isn't really a word at all. how do you say two? the more you see two, the stranger it looks. pretty soon two is drained of all meaning. two.

when i was done, it seemed rather psychedelic. i originally posted it as "other" but changed it.

thanks

It's funny...
...but the artwork is a very accurate representation of what I'm hearing...who did it, anyway?

Cool piece. Sounded like Keith Emerson at one point...nice...

don't know where the artwork originates - it was on a myspace page with a lot of other images. i went through a bunch of google image search pages for psychedelic to find it. it's the left side of a larger image containing two creatures.

thanks

great idea conglomeration
weird time signature, weird instrument voices, portamento, strange chords, wacky word and graphic, and for some reason, it all makes sense! Well, OK, it doesn't "make sense", per se, but it WORKS! And it works hard... whatever it is, it makes fast slippery tracks across my synapses, and tickles my amygdala... because now I smell spearmint.

Snorkel
Listening to this tune is an experience in itself. Furiously fast paced, and lots of really wild things going on at just about all times. It really sounds like you needed to get some stuff off your chest, so to speak. Well done interesting piece of music - thanks!
