Description
It's been a year since my last post!
Just wanted to say I'm still alive and doing fine! How's everyone doing?

This is me whining about being single for so long. lol

Lyrics
Winter Sky

A dead leaf fell from a branch
I looked up and see the moon between the roofs
And she said "Hey, you. How's it going?"
I didn't take the high street I always take
I walked the back street so that I could have a better sight of the sky
My fingers became numb but I kept walking
I found the winter constellation I liked
I looked up for a moment and they looked right back at me

I tried to put my best smile
I pretended as if everything was alright
I didn't want to say it's hard
Because the sky was so clear tonight
I couldn't lie

A young couple was making out
behind the utility pole on the street
It almost made me jump but they just
gave me a cold stare

I tried to put my best smile
I pretended as if everything was alright
I didn't want to say it hurts
Because the sky was so clear that night
I couldn't lie

Winter night is gentle to a single guy like me
Gentle breeze passed me over my shoulder
and said "Go home and get warm"
Leave the young lovers alone and let's go home

Or not!

I tried to put my best smile
I pretended as if everything was alright
I tried to put my best smile
I pretended as if there was no problem
I didn't want to say it's hard
Because the sky was so clear tonight
I couldn't lie

A cascade of triumphant feeling
Totally dig the drumming, the cascade of vocals in the chorus, the use of organ. The music seems much more triumphant, glorious even, as if it were instead a love song with swirling cameras capturing someone throwing his hands in embrace of an expanding universe. But I guess that is what your internal life longs for. I love this song, especially your harmonies.

Excellent production
And soaring harmonies--this is a gleamingly-polished pop song! The year of effort shows... Great writing, musicianship, singing... I'm hugely impressed!

Worth the wait
You are the master of "thinking person's pop music". This sounds to me like it would be accessible and enjoyed by a very wide range of people. Absolutely no nits - everything played well, great vocals and fantastic production. I hope it's not such a long time before your next post at MJ.
Best wishes from Oz,
Neil

Winter Sky
Strong arrangement, vocals and production. I can definitely hear why it took so long to produce. I enjoyed the guitar break, did you play it on guitar, or keys? Thanks, enjoyed this.

re: Winter Sky
hey dave_b. thank you very much for listening.
yes, i played that on guitar.
i tried to write a song for so many times for the last 12 months but somehow i could not complete one going like "The verse is not great", "The lyrics are crap" or "This sounds like my other song"....
i dunno what was different this time. but i somehow managed to make it to the end. lol

Beautiful track
excellent production and you beat The Edge at his own game in those chiming guitar parts.(Personally I think he's overrated) Really like the harmony vocals too.
