Description
Worship song. Actually a decent combination of pieces of Simeon's "nunc dimittis", Zechariah's "benedictus", and the angels' "Gloria in excelsis" (if I got all those right). A perfect song for Advent and a day with Holy Communion. Also, the word Bethlehem means "house of bread", hence the first line, a reminder of Christ's body and blood given to His people once for all at the cross, and also at the Holy Table, until He comes again!

Lyrics
O' come to Bethlehem to the house of holy bread
Where God can fill the hungry soul with life instead of death
For my eyes have seen
Salvation well-prepared
To lighten all our darkness
To ease our heavy cares
From Mount Zion peak, the Lord looked down from heaven
To hear our cries, to see our pain, and to set us free from evil
God has come to us
To finish His great story
God now in the flesh
To Israel His glory
Blessed be the Lord, the Holy One of Israel
For He has come, redeeming us, His promised mercy granted
Glory to the Lord
In heaven's highest worship
And on earth bring peace
To all God's holy people
Where God can fill the hungry soul with life instead of death
For my eyes have seen
Salvation well-prepared
To lighten all our darkness
To ease our heavy cares
From Mount Zion peak, the Lord looked down from heaven
To hear our cries, to see our pain, and to set us free from evil
God has come to us
To finish His great story
God now in the flesh
To Israel His glory
Blessed be the Lord, the Holy One of Israel
For He has come, redeeming us, His promised mercy granted
Glory to the Lord
In heaven's highest worship
And on earth bring peace
To all God's holy people
