Description
This is a German carol. I arranged it for 2 octave tone-chime set for our group at church to play. This is an extended version, using GarageBand to increase the range of the instruments, and then duplicate the sound in the lower octave. I'm hoping to get some time to post a few more of these pieces in the coming two weeks.

You are too kind.
This is a fairly simple arrangement, but I think 'simple' fits this song best. It is a children's song. I have my first grade students singing it for their winter concert tomorrow night, too. When I find a song and work on performing it with one group, I often do it with my other groups, too, thus the chime arrangement. i'm glad you enjoyed it!

Absolutely delightful!
This is such perfect Christmas music, and nicely realized. Thank you Kristyjo: this is for sure going on my MacJams Christmas iPod. I'm looking forward to more (but no pressure ;-)

As Richard said,
perfect for Christmas. Wow. I would love to hear your church bell choir. It's such a rarity to hear this kind of music live. I'll bet they are thrilled you are writing for them. What a wonderful gift you bring. :)
Peace (on earth).

Our choir is just starting out. I have a couple of other, harder pieces that I arranged, but they preferred this one. It is a sweet song. Thanks for listening!

It Doesn't
get more Christmassy sounding than this does it? Lovely like a Christmas musical box with dancers on top.. just lovely, regards M

I get the music box feeling when I hear it on these speakers, too. Now all I need is a snow globe, and I'll be set for the season.

Things like chimes...
...can be deceptive.... It would be easy to get a metallic, brassy, or harsh tonality out of either the real or the virtual instruments...

THIS manages to be sonorous and reverberant. It's not tinkly or tinny, though it does have a nice high end....

The time, too, is nice... A good tempo for the piece, I think, and a 'music box' feel that isn't stiff....

Really sweet...

Ed
