Follow That Star
Words and music arrangement by;

C.J.

Verse #1
Sheperds in the field at night.
Lookin at a wonderful sight.
Angel up above so bright,
singin everything’ll be all right.
Sheperds singin, angels singin this song.

Chorus:

Well this road is long and hard.
We’re gonna follow that star.
Lift up your voice, praise and rejoice.
We’re gonna follow that star to Bethlehem.

Verse #2
Three men sittin round a table,
gotta visit from a beautiful angel.
She said, if your willing and able.
Your saviours lying in a stable.
Wise men singin, angels singin this song.

Chorus & Instrumental.

Verse #3
Lyin in a manger at the inn.
Holding Gods love within.
This is where my life begins.
Jesus’ll forgive my sins.
People singin, angels singin this song.

Chorus:

Verse #4
Flyin on the wings of a dove.
Our Father has sent his love.
The wonder and magic of.
His glory from high above.
Children singin, angels singin this song.

Chorus 2X...end

good possibilities
You've got some good stuff here, maybe add some more
variety in the melody, accompaniment and the mix.

What kind of recording software are you using? It's always
good to list that in your song description, along with
lyrics.

Your voice has a pleasant quality. Maybe use some
harmony to liven it up a little. Also, give a bit more
"oomph" in your overall vocal delivery -- hope this makes
sense!

The general mix of this track could benefit from some
reverb and variety of panning; everything sounded like it
was coming from the middle.

Hope this helps.

great tune
i agree with everything cameron noted. try placing some
of the tracks in different positions on the panning dial to
create a 'wider' soundscape. push up the volume on your
vocal track, maybe add a touch of reverb. really great
lyrics-post 'em!

Thanks For The Feedback
I know it's pretty raw. It's not near what I hear in my head. Unfortunately I don't have acces to Pro Tools at home. I used the Ministers, at his house. The song was put together at his house in about 1/2 an hour. I sang it twice. Played the guitar track once. The room was small and I was attached to headphones in a very cramped way. It was actually quite funny to see. My voice is cramped as well. I know that shows. It was like singin in a shoe box. Hard to get into the feel. I wish I had more time and availability, but I'm working on my own home studio. It will take some time but I will redo this song in the future with more to it. I'm working on a lead and some melody. But it's slow going. I need to go to work and do the overtime to make the money to set up a studio. Consequently, I have little time left in the day to do anything else. Thanks so much for the feedback.

where did you drive the bus?
for 15 years? i take transit regularly in vancouver...

would comment on your song but it's not a genre i
voluntarily listen to. i'll say this, though, that it sounds
very different (from the first bit i listened to) than
everything else i've heard here. production could be
better, but otherwise...

Yes I'm a Bus Driver
Well you may of seen me 10 yrs ago in Vancouver. I've done every run. But it used to be different. When I worked Vancouver there were routes like Fraser/Davie, Granville/Victoria Main/Robson etc. I still drive in Van but I work out ot the Port Coquitlam Depot. The buses have letters in front of the number...ie. P7345 or B7422 N7402 S7741 So P=Port Coquitlam. S=Surrey etc. Today I worked a 143 SFU/Coquilam Stn. that was this morning. In the evening I worked 160 Vancouver/ Poco Stn. Where in Van do you live? Maybe you can find me one day. I have Tue/Wed off at the moment. Do you know any bus drivers? Give me a call on my cell 604-722-3384 or home 604-468-4450. It's no big deal but you could get a ride with a fellow aspiring musician/writer/composer. I do different work everyday so I never no exactly where and when I work until the day before about 4pm. You may have seen me but there are about 4.000 drivers in the Lower Mainland in all 6 Depots. Who remembers everydriver? But call anytime satisfy your curiosity and come for a ride...C.J.

nicely put together
I actually like the cramped feeling...it made me think of a train chugging along, or a cha-cha line. It was really different from what I expected from reading the description and the lyrics. In a very good way!

keep on truckin'
I agree with the above about production and such, but it's all about the song.
The vocs remind me of Bruce during his Tom Joad period, that cramped feel
can be just the thing to evoke atmosphere. It's all about the healing power of
music, thanks for your song.
