Description
This is one of the first pieces I ever wrote, and it must date from 2000 or so. It's the opening movement of a suite I wrote for clarinet and strings, and I tried for an Italian sound to the music. The piece has undergone many revisions, each to make the clarinet fingerings easier.
This tune is in the style of a Neapolitan folk dance called a saltarello, which is always in triple meter and features a skip to the step.
As always, the sheet music for this piece can be printed for a token fee at
My SibeliusMusic web page.
