Rockin' on the back end of a flat bed truck
I get this image of you speeding down the interstate
through downtown Minneapolis at night, wailing from the
bed of a large flat bed truck with your git, sax and
percussion players bouncing all around. Her lipstick has to
be pretty bright to be seen a quarter mile away, traveling
60 MPH. Good groove. I don't mind the hollow vocal
sound - reminds me of Black Sabbath.

Cool voice
Great voice, like Anderson of Jethro Tull, very compelling,
combined with unique lyrics. You have a good balance in
your mix here, but your voice seems to fade as the song
continues when more sounds layer on (it is so cool I'd like
it higher in the mix). You've a good ear for pacing and
loop placement.

thanks!
I appreciate the comments and the feedback. This song
was my first full exercise with GB -- and I love the
simplicity and how intuitive it is. Creating and dropping
in loops was almost too easy, which might explain why I
have so much in the track. (Sort of -- "sure, let's add
another synth loop... what the hell.") My main beef with
the software is the lack of mixing/stereo panning
capabilities, and I have not yet figured out how to master
a track yet. All my attempts so far have caused the track
to be ubercompressed and cheap sounding. The only
other experience I have with recording is with Cool Edit
Pro on my old PC. I must say, CEP had some issues, but I
was able to separate the instruments a lot better with its
stereo panning features... leaving me a nice hole in the
mix to plop in my vocals, and not worry too much about
freq overlap. Maybe I'm missing something, but GB
doesn't seem to have the same sort of features in this
regard.

thanks!
I do panning in GB by duplicating a track and using volume levels to move the
sound left and right.

More Beef
Want more beef in the vocal. Love the garage band sound
of the guitar. At first I didn't think the horns belonged but
they grew on me. Didn't fancy the lyrics much. Overall,
fairly decent tune. It'll be interesting to hear how it
develops.

More Beef
yeah, i really need a preamp. right now i'm using a stompbox compressor as
my preamp -- shure 57 to compressor to emac. not the warmest, beefiest
way to record.

More Words
The vocals are decent, but seem like pop, while the music
sounds electronica. Not a fan of the high synth stuff. Not
sure what that is. Distracting. Seems like a bad way to end
it.

I'd also add more verses. Seems a little on the simplistic
side as is.

I like it
Not bad, though less brass and synth more clean bright
electric guitar ala early Talking Heads.

obsessive brain propellant
nice obsessive lyrics. really nice propelling forward feeling. the hron loops reminded me these were mostly loops, which was too baed, even though you placed them well. i really like the track. (remember the song by the same title by Trevor Rabin? I lke the craziness in yours, the sense of brain busting.) the ending kind of falls off the table, though?

A lot of energy
There is definitely a sense of driving force and energy in
this track. The vocals were great -- as others said, I
wouldn't mind if they were a wee bit more upfront, as I
like to get lost in vocals (might be just me, though). Good
job!

lost
The basic song is ok, but the vocals turn me way off. Did
you swollow a Zappa pill? Too cheesy sounding (not the
electronic processing), the emphasis in the voice is
annoying to me. Like a parody. I like the instrumental
parts of the song, the way it sounds is very dynamic. The
layering and mixing is real nice.
