Description

This is a collaberation with my Canadian friend "always wanted to say that" Jay, (PrototypeEightyOne). It is loaded with distortion in my recording but I love it none the less. At this point I feel like im insulting the great music that I am singing over. I love the way this turned out. I am pleased to say that I will be buying a mic just as soon as I can afford it. Thanks Jay for fianlly agreeing to record with me.

Love the opening vocal melody man. It grabs your attention right away and keeps you there. Very cool doubling on the vox 2 .. (1:13-1:20) that shit is DOPE! The recording wasnt aweful at all, in fact this turned out really well. Thanks for the collab man, we'll have to work on more in the future. Really diggin this.

Love that part man! Made me smile how good the metric follows the rhythm :-)
Your singing melts great with Jay's track. The instrumental is full of dynamics and subtle details. Nice chord progression just before ending. I like those very short notes that are part of the rhythm (1:23 and everywhere). Great midi programming.

	Funny I sometimes find myself smiling about what people hear. It is up to me to pick the chorus and I picked that spot for the peak. 	Thanks Thanks Billy, to be honest i didnt program this in its entirety, the strumming is a sped up sample that I warped layered with another sample in sync. I did the percs and sequenced/midi the different synth melodies. Agreed gaylen killed this vox, and that 1:13 is crazy goooood. Check out my latest song called Mechanical Memories

	Enjoyed it Nice vibin on this track. The mic you have makes all your vocals sound like they are filtered but it doenst sound bad at all. Makes you lack versatility in the sound you get vocally though. A little bit of a rap vibe in places to this song. Cool song Check out my latest song called Devil's Argument!!!

waaay to hard on yourself. I am listening on a very expensive set of phones and this is HOT especially the vox man (HOT in the good way). You nailed it. Theending confuses me but it might be on my end... Did you mean for it to have no real ending? It stops suddenly is what I mean. I will reload the page and try again.

	it is the original it is a bit confusing lol. I left the original because I didnt want to push the vox to the end and didnt want to mess with the original track. the end
The reason it just cuts is most of what your hearing are 2 seperate samples I chopped and melded as one. this isnt an original composition. Most of what is happening in this song are from 2 audio clips playing in sync. Then I added my own midi/programmed synth strings and layered the percs. It was orignally built for a couple hip hop verses ( most hip hop especially underground just cuts ), but Gaylen was really vibing to it, so I sent it as is. After hearing Gaylens crazy good vocals though it has inspired me to work an ending in and add bass.

You two did a super job here, creating a piece of art... weird, but beautiful in its unique flavor on the ears. :-) Gaylen, your singing style is characteristically you, and that is a GOOD thing. Yes! And it sounds great--the distortion is for good effect, not detracting from your vocal tone. Great collaboration--you really came up with a complex and interesting melody and lyric for this piece--I guarantee no one else would have come up with something like this!!! I like the almost-Steven-Tyler run around 2:10!

(Btw, I use a M-Audio Nova condenser mic I got for $60 on e-Bay and I think it sounds great, although you can be the independent judge:))
