Description
Thought I'd do another tune fer y'all.

I wrote this tune in 1978 and there's another version here from my first year at MJ.

We redid it for our CD Bold Forest.

The photo is my drummer Burke Kelly, me and our dogs Rogue and Tuxedo (the dogs aren't on this tune but Allison K. is) out in his back yard.

Three advocates of the right, one day
Were heard to agree
Some things in the universe
Have just no right to be.
"What should we do?"
Said the Lord of Law
"With the tangled scene below."
"I think there's trouble brewing now"
"That they know the things they know."

Wasted, wasted, wasted, yeah
Aaah, aaah,
That's what's in the plan
Wasted, wasted, wasted, yeah
Aaah, aah,
Anyway you can.

"They're likely to destroy themselves,"
Said The One Clad All In Grey.
"If left to their own devices, they may"
"Blow it all away."
"They've come to a point, my friends,"
"Where they've filled their lakes and seas."
"But should we stop them"
"Ere they spread"
"To the stars, like a dread disease?"

Wasted, wasted, wasted, yeah . . .

"It's a consequence of placing fools"
"In a seeming paradise."
"It's hopeless, now,"
Said The Faceless Lord.
"And they'e beyond advice."
"And now it appears that the die is cast,"
"They've caused their own demise."
"Their salvation's doomed to die"
"In the protests of the wise!"

It's all been
Wasted, wasted, wasted, yeah . . .

Sounds like the late 60's to me, but what do I know
Like the lyrics and the production on this. I can almost see the three lords talking too!

The Snowy Blues Reunion
The main verse starts out giving me Moody Blues flashbacks (which is a good thing)... but with extra flourishes all your own. A very depressing set of lyrics, well foretold.

indeed
there are undoubtedly Moody influences but I swear in this one they're unconscious ones. As I recall, I was sitting on the floor at a party one night listening to The Supremes when this one came to me. Maybe that's where the depressing lyrics came from eh? :)

Cool festival tune
with prophetic lyrics: who knew we'd all be wasted?

Classic!
Early 70's vibe for me!
Great guitar solo in the background.
The drummer had his day in the end.

So this was
a reaction to "Stop! In the name of love" or one of those? Bouncy tune and dire warning. Loved the vocals. :)
