Description:
An atmospheric song with just my voice, the piano and backing vocals.

Lyrics:
Think about the times that we had
Every moment so special, either good or bad
And think about our late nights on the phone
Just one call from you and I wouldn't feel alone

But when I saw you the morning after night
I'd smile to myself for hours
But now that you're gone, I just feel so wrong
Why aren't you here by my side?

CHORUS
Where are you now? I'm so quiet and alone
Everytime I think of you I know that I'm longing for your hold
And where are you now? Are you sitting by yourself,
Thinking 'bout you and me, and the way we used to be?
Everytime I think of you, everytime I think of you, everytime I think of you, I'm so alone.

Lying with you, looking in your eyes
I knew that I loved you so much, and I'd realise
That the day I would say goodbye, would be hard
Trying to let go of the one thing that I love

But I'll remember from the month of December
That line you always said:
I know I've been loved and if no-one else does,
Your love will always be there

CHORUS

Flanger &mdash 12/28/04 - 08:46:21 PM
For some weird reason, the reverb on the vocals seems to
have a flanger. The real version is not like this at all, it
only seemed to happen when I uploaded the song. Sorry
about it.

Sweet vocal layering &mdash 12/30/04 - 09:30:26 AM
My favorite part is that great chord at the end of the
chorus going into your repeating bridge, before you stop
to breathe and recap the chorus again. Do more of that
great vocal layer! You do this really well. (When
converting songs to MP3 compression, certain EQs often
turn metallic or have a flange sense to them, especially if
you layer unison vocals. It never bothered me in this
tune. Your vocal work is great. And you have very little
track noise for all these vocal tracks, which is great.)

Ya need to get a decent demo together - and work that voice.

Cool song &mdash 02/05/05 - 11:41:15 AM
I enjoyed listening to this.

If you want some criticism I'd like to offer this thought:
you have a very light voice, and that piano sounds rather
dark. That bothered me a little at the start of the track,
but I wouldn't know what to do about that. I guess if you
recorded this at an expensive studio the engineer would
try out different microphones. It needs to sound a bit
warmer than it does now.

Once you start doubling the melody or introducing
harmony parts this "problem" is entirely gone as that
makes the vocal texture a bit thicker.

But again, compliments on the singing and songwriting.
Good stuff!

I loved it, I also think you understand your genre's very
bluesish.
