Description
Featuring vocals and bass drum from the original, written in 2004 in Williamsburg Brooklyn with Rachel Newman, I have since composed completely new accompaniment featuring a driving bass line and haunting piano and piano varietals. The original acoustic guitar riff Rachel played from the chorus makes an appearance for the final chorus. I dunno kids, I think this may be close to ready for release. Input sought!

Lyrics
Verse 1:
Crossed a bridge to get down
To a home that's been waiting for me
Slip on into my best new socks
My shoes going to step to the beat
Rhythm come from the street lamps
There's art on the warehouse walls
I am ready to get turned on
Ready to have me a ball
Chorus:
Welcome to the neighborhood
Got a new place to live
Lot's of love in this neighborhood
Got a new place to give
I'm so happy to be here
Where my tail feathers I can shake
Whatever I find on these streets
Is whatever I please to take
Verse 2:
It's so dirty and beautiful
Where I choose to hang my hat
I think ugly is lovely
Can you imagine that?
Structure grows out of rubble
A phoenix reborn out of ash
I come to this wonderland
When my whole life when up in a flash
Bridge:
(Vocal Percussion)
Chorus:
Welcome to the neighborhood
Got a new place to live
Lot's of love in this neighborhood
Got a new place to give
I'm so happy to be here
Where my tail feathers I can shake
Whatever I find on these streets
Is whatever I please to take
Welcome to the neighborhood
Got a new place to live
Lot's of love in this neighborhood
Got a new place to give (I give I give I give I give)
I'm so happy to be here
Where my tail feathers I can shake (Shake my tail feathers)
Whatever I find on these streets
Is whatever I please to take
Shake those tail feathers.
Crossed a bridge to get down
