Right on
Really got captured in by the intro. Then the track itself came in. A lot of little tasty treats going on. Quite original.

Nice one, indeed.

You got me
.. I was intrigued by the title and the picture, not noticing the genre. What an impressive composition, full of textures and rhythms working in harmony. This is a really interesting and engaging piece and what's more, has got me out of my comfort zone, bravo.

Engagingly original
Hey Vic
this is really engaging. Not a rythem i have come across before and it does paint quite a picture of the "big man". Where on earth did you start?

Big man, the early years
This started with the idea of some loop with real instruments morphing into a synthetic carpet. So I took that mandolin loop, matched it with a breakbeat loop, and then started slathering synth parts on top of it. The whole piece is an exercise is making minimal changes to parts here and there (with occasionally a big sideways jump) resulting in a slow continuously changing overall texture.

Just messing around, in other words. Glad you guys enjoy it.

Subtle
I'm all for the subtle changes. New ideas swirling in and out. Some nice loops in here very well separated in the mix which points to good sound choices. Very neat work Vic.

Victor Walking
This collage is sweet. Reverb catches the vibe and extends the piece. Ear candy is always an issue, some here, but the loopy nature seems to detract from the whole after about 3:15.

Cool!!
I love the mix. Everything has it's own place.

Nice upbeat piece. I like the start of the key changes at 2:43. I like what I think is a "pad" swell in the background, they almost have a vocal quality to them.

Thanks for sharin' this one.

Concise short-story in the description
Gave me a smirk from the description, very potent imagery of self-importance. Music definitely has a swaunter (cross between a saunter and a swagger)... many things going on in his head, mostly serious, but fun-loving too. Reminds me a bit of my "Major Penta" (under the ic42 account) except yours is much more elaborate and developed. Love the synth voices here. Great bass too.

So cool...
The man saunters... and we listen and watch. Well done Vic. This is a slice of life music-piece that works, never boring despite the apparent, but effective, repetitive nature of the song. I like it.

Love how you crossfade
from the intro into the beat-driven part of this song--I didn't see it coming! I can totally picture the "big man" sauntering: very evocative sounds....

Great Intro
The two blend seamlessly!
Very detailed syn playing, keeps your ear busy trying to hear all the little parts.
A lot of hard work, with creative mastery . . .

I see
Giancarlo Giannini, a young Mickey Rourke and Ryuichi Sakamoto drinking grappa at a nondescript cafe. Pretty cool stuff, and a seamless transition.
Your approach here puts me in mind of the best of Jim O'Rourke. You clearly have a different philosophy, but the build up is similar.

I'd consider dropping those first few mando measures: they don't really fit the Neo Geo groove of the rest of it, and they might come in handy somewhere down the line.

Very nice production.
Vic, what is that instrument that you open up with it sounds like a Greek instrument from Zorba. Lots of ambiance as this one develops. Again it has a really full and professional production shine.

Zorba
Thanks for the compliments. The opening is a loop that I found somewhere. The name doesn't tell me what the instrument is. It sounds like a mandolin to me.
