A Forest Trail

Description
This is another short experiment with my new sample library - this time with the symphony orchestra.
This is very short, I know, but I thought of this as a short cue, perhaps showing a man walking the last couple of yards through a beautiful forest on his way home to his family.
Corny, clichéd and not my most original composition - but I put more emphasis on the sound quality and overall feeling of the piece instead of some groundbreaking originality.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy this!

gentle and expressive
Very engaging composition, and super amazing sounding instrumentation there. The one thing I wanted to hear better was the mordent thingie at 1:03 that could have been played slightly louder, the half-step-down note was very faint. The horns near the end were slightly "indistinct", as sampled brass sometimes is... I would have liked a little more character, they seemed a little midrange-heavy, maybe more trombone-bite in the low end, just a touch, to balance out the high-end-smoothness? And I only mention these minor nit-picks because overall this is monumentally gorgeous, I really love the choices of instrumentation and composing you did here. And the photo is pretty darned stunning too, I can smell the earth and trees just looking at that. Wish I could write stuff like this, excellent interlude!

Lovely Orchestration
The musical concept and orchestration are EXCELLENT in this all-too-short piece. As I just mentioned in chat, the real challenge of music composition is the ability to develop and sustain musical ideas over a long period of time. This piece has MUCH potential, and I encourage you to expand and develop it more.

You have a real talent for composition.

The production values on this are also excellent.

Really nice double reeds
Oboes and English Horns are often great samples in those libraries. I really like the cinematic feel of this, the family nostalgia, the feel of going home and feeling the sweeping encircling memories rise from the rooms and light, shadows and aromas. Very nice. Thanks for sharing this. Fabulous way to start the day.

Einar, you've got 'lush' DOWN....
This is lush but not glorpy. It does indeed have a cinematic quality, and a sweetness to it... In a film or coupled with another 'movement' that had a burr of dissonance to it or a little more 'fur' one some of the instruments, or perhaps a little more something in the bass, this would be experienced as a release and a sort of 'awakening moment'....

I know nothing about formal composition, but this seems well wrought to me, and very well recorded...
