Description
This song was originally on the RPM challenge record I did last month. As with the other songs, it consist of harmony vocals, acoustic guitar with digital icing laid on top. While doing it, I kept thinking of Brian Eno, Air and the Beach Boys. I thought of how it would be really cool if Bryn was involved with it and after the challenge was over sent him the files.
You don't get to hear Bryn sing very often, but on this track he is all over the place doing the Pet Sounds bom-bum-bom backups. Very tasty additions BTW. He also laid down a beautiful Solina part and re-mixed it so that it actually had some some sonic quality to it. I love what he did to it, and hope you do as well.
The song was written about a friend I had that had a manic episode when we were on tour. Things had gotten really out of control, and it wasn't possible to continue on the tour. He didn't know that he was losing it, and I flew back to LA with him and handed him over to his father so he could be hospitalized. The whole trip home, he kept making up these numeric systems in his head that "explained" everything in the universe. That was years ago, and he's fine now (meds really do work miracles).

but this is just way over the top. Bryn's work is truly amazing - I had the pleasure of his company for a month while you were working alone on your CD. The Eno Air Boys is the perfect description and you guys sound so good together.
BTW - the rest of you guys and gals - Michael's RPM CD is excellent - chock full of cool tunes.
