Let It Be Me by Jerry Quinn

Description
Another gem written by my good friend Jerry_Quinn. Jerry is singing the lead vocal and playing tenor sax. Jerry allowed me a lot of room on the backing tracks. I'm playing guitars and bass. This track also offered me the opportunity to use my Yamaha EZAG MIDI guitar to do the electric piano track.

A radio...
... ready song. Great work! Reminds me of (MJ's) Ed Hannifin. I like the timeless folk feel here!

Crystal clear
Wonderful mix here, and excellent singing/harmonies... like the lyrics, and the sax is sweet. The backing guitar/bass work is super solid... at about 3:46 the sax comes back in but is panned off left a bit... that's OK, but I'd probably drop the level on it just a touch, it seemed to compete with the singing a bit, my only suggestion. Great piece of music.

Agreed
Jerry and I discussed at length the issue of the sax during verse 3. We agreed we wanted it there but wanted to avoid taking focus away from the vocal. My attempt at a solution was to pan it away from center where the vocal is and bring it down a touch. You're probably right however, in that it could come down a bit more. Thanks for listening and your thoughtful comments.

This song is really good
personally I would speed it up and give it a calypso rhythm add a high male duo vocal on the chorus, big potential !

Nice Groove
Really liked the groove and feel for the song. I like the mix on your vocals and it seems you have a good feel for mixing and arrangement in general. The tenor sax really adds a nice touch. Good job.

Feel and groove first! If it doesn't have those, what's the point? I'm glad you liked it and thanks for taking the time to listen.

Enjoy
the sax intro, enjoy the singing and playing afterwords afterwords. Almost reminds me of a James Taylor piece, I don't think he wrote anything like this. But it has the essence of him.

Thanks for sharing this !

Thank You
I hear James in this one as well. I think Jerry's vocal is very James as is the desending chord change in the chorus. Thanks for listening and commenting.
