Description
I remembered this tune from when I was very young and since that time it took me forever to find the title (could NEVER think of it). This was originally recorded by Hurricane Smith in 1972, who was the engineer on many Beatles albums and is now (amazingly) is in the public domain according to my resources (obviously Paul McCartney doesn't own this one!). I tried for a "boyish" voice on this one--believe me, I've not been "boyish" since Junior Samples' "Eloise with the Social Disease" was #3 on the charts.
Thanks again,
Michael
"Oh Babe, What Would You Say" was written by Smith and Eileen Sylvia (public domain)
Vocal: MJK
Accompaniment: JB&PK Records (distributed through Soul-Leema Enterprises)
Photo: Me during a break at Vito's Knuckle Room in East Orange, NJ---back in my drinking days. I remember "Broken Leg of Lamb" was the house specialty.
And, if I may: If any disgruntled member wishes to do a "send up" of this song or anything else I post, please stop and remember that what is new is is not necessarily good and what is old is not always to be laughed at. I would so much like to be treated the same as I treat you and your music, even if it's a style of music I may not be particularly fond of, or (more likely!) have only a scant knowledge of, but recognize as a job well done. There is music of all kinds and GOOD music of ALL kinds too. If the artists here did not believe truly in what they were doing, well, I don't think we'd be hearing such wonderful work. I believe in what I'm doing, at all times. Besides this, I'm telling you, the big bands ARE coming back! They've got no place to go, but they are coming back! You just gotta trust me on this! Thanks again!
Thanks again,
Michael
