Lyrics
Sunlight hits my bleeding eyes, it's all unclear. Yellow fingers touching red-black lips. How did I get here?
Still got my shoes on and I reckon my breath could kill a horse, indeed it smells like there's dead animals around here. I'm on the floor but it's a wonder that I got home, this has to be the worst hangover of this year.
Faint visions of foolishness plague my memory. My insides have rot and my head throbs incessantly.
Nervous energy and it can't be spent no matter what I do - I'm destined for a morning in a guilty anxious fog. There's only one answer, eyeing half-drunk bottles on the floor - they're calling me to taste the hair of the dog.

Now this was slebifying...
Believe me, I've experienced more hangovers than most mortals in my (fortunately for me) past and never had one that sounded this good! You did a great job here in all departments (I really like your voice, among other things here) and you are certainly a pro! Thanks again, Michael

sweetest hangover
I really like the way you fit your 'stream of (un) concious lyrics into the song...and the 'red black lips' line is great.
Your productions and lay outs for your songs are getting really good.

Very cool
Surprises around every corner, I wish my hangovers where this eventful. Killer guitar and vocals, and vocal arrangements. Psychadelica mixed with 60's pop and package in your own indie package. I dig this!

You have
your own style Ste and it's great.... I like the warmness of your sound as well as the 'Arty' style of your songs built around lyrics that are more of a commentary on social issues/ observations.... enjoyed, regards M

Been there, done that but not lately! Easily relatable concept. Vocal harmonies are working well here. The guitar line and tone over the fast section sound great. All the sounds are sitting well in the mix and seem balanced across the stereo field.
Like the tempo changes.

You've captured it very well and some clever music.

Worst hangover of the year
After listening to all of your postings in reverse order, and then coming back to this, your latest work, it's clear your production has greatly improved over the course of a year. Critical feedback here at Macjams tends to have that kind of personal impact (and, I suspect your new iMac hasn't hurt production, either).

In your bio you suggest you could use help with song ideas, but clearly this isn't the case. You demonstrate an innate knack for combing through everyday life for interesting compositional material - whether it be the new (Japan), the former (Ol' England) or a mix of the two ("nothing but pies"). Pop songs as social commentary. It's good stuff!

I like how your lyrics are presented as prose sentences. That's a bit different approach to posting song lyrics.

Your music has a wonderful sense of rhythm and melody, with a nice feeling of balance between the instruments themselves, as well how you fit in the vocals. The grooves are great. The only thing I keep longing to hear is an occasional lead instrument flickering in, out and around those structural elements.

"Worst hangover of the year" is a great line and a hard-hitting concept. And ... it's only March : )

How Did I Get Here?
And who's idea was it to shave my eyebrows off?

Great "recollection" of events. It's really put together nicely too. The dreamy waking up part makes so much sense and transitions beautifully into the rocking realization that you've over done it again, bigger and better than before.

Plop, Plop, Fizz, Fizz.

Hair of the dog. (gnarly)
your songs are always quirky. Always good clean fun! This one's humurous in a darker sort of way though.

I haven't had a hangover for a while but I remember how much fun they were.

Cool song man.
