Description
I wrote a simple 3-part "round" or canon, showing my children how one can devise a melody that can stack on top of itself like offset puzzle pieces, and will then make its own harmony (with a nod to the master of rounds and fugues, J. S. "LoopMeister" Bach.) And because rounds get boring very quickly, these performers get silly as they go along and begin to give the tune a jazzy twist. And as always, the title of this piece is smirky wordplay, a really bad hobbit of mine.
Note that this is all hand-scored, note by note by me. The instruments you hear are sampled instruments playing the MIDI file. The sheet music is available for a live performance if that miracle ever arises. :-)
This fifth version has been extended a little further. But most importantly, it now has a wonderfully realistic-sounding sampled acoustic bass, thanks to Velvet Audio Labs, who ran the bass part through his copy of Trilian for me.
