Up a lazy river? A leaf in the breeze? I don't know the original but I imagine this take is a smoothed-out version of a less refined oldie. So smooth. Not sure I've heard you this relaxed and easy going. It's always a pleasure, but this one just swings and lilts along on its own power, as if on a very gentle breeze. There's a very comfy easy-chair (or rocking chair, I suppose) nature to the bluesy passages you bring into the latter half... with that nice synth-vibraphone tones accompanying to the end. Did Johhny Cash do a version of this ,it seems
I can recall a bass/baritone rumble.
This kind of steps away from the simplicity of that song without overegging it in anyway.Magnificent picking,and just slightly jazzified. Cheers Jarvoid
