Description
Online collaboration. The acoustic rhythm was done first. I took that rythm and wrote accompanying drums and bass, then the lyricist/singer came in and wrote lyrics and sung it. I took his vocals and created an arrangement and added lead guitar, and keys. This is the result.

Lyrics
Tall shadow
Riding out of the sun
A silhouette in the saddle
Where're you gonna run?
Your guns have grown cold
Your heart is hidden away
Under dark ugly scars
From another day
-guitar lead-
Silence clings to you
Like the dust on your boots
You made your bet long ago
No one knows your roots
Something in the firelight
Says you were kicked when you were down
Coiled like steel but slow and easy
You wear your suspicions like a crown

I really dig the guitar work, the single note lines that lead into the chord changes, the rhythmic sense hinted at, the cool electric solo striking like lightning from an internal storm. Nice vocals too, full of personality, unspoken theatrical backstories. The track has mystery, edge, brooding anticipation. The MIDI strings in the backing throughout have an incongruously thin quality in comparison, and my ears might have preferred a B3 or something else, but, nonetheless, this was very entertaining, thought-provoking, interesting. thanks for sharing this.
