Escape From Radiation (featuring Spiderland)

Description
Christian aka Spiderland wrote one of the heaviest soundbeds ever. I wrote some lyrics and put some vox on top. Hopefully, I was able to match the intensity of Christian's instruments. His guitarwork on this one smokes big time.

This one is definitely not for the faint of heart.

Lyrics
Escape from Radiation

A chain reaction from the nuclear core
Heats the rods until they fry
A meltdown is imminent
We’re all gonna die
The best thing to do right now
Is to save your own hide

Escape from radiation
Get away from the accident
Escape from radiation
Saving your ass is precedence
Escape from radiation
Get as far up wind as you can
Escape from radiation
Move it now! That’s the plan

Chernoble all over again
Faces melting from toxic gas
Everyone close is sick and dying
The affected area is getting vast
People clawing to get away
Doing what they can to escape
Looting and rioting along the way
Like hell on earth make no mistake

Great Metal Sound
The guitars are just crushing. The percussion is a great genre bending twist. This has a melodic quality that echos of Megadeath.

Thanks for
dropping by. Christian does play a "crushing" guitar. Pretty amazing that he is only 19 years old too. That just floors me!

I love the picture you put with the song. I had a lot of fun working with you on this song and Dirge Devil, I think our styles make a great inFUSION. pun intended.

Thanks Christian
for you vote of confidence. I did really enjoy working on this song. It's so freaking mean bro'. It's definitely one of my favorites of yours. It was way cool of you to let me put some vocals on it.

You're very punny!

Escape From Radiation
Shredtastic guitar line, great ton. The lyrics are a great fit for the backing track (you are the Stephen King of lyricists), and you are bringing the vocs big time with some hardcore attitude. Great collab gentlemen!

Thanks for the
comparison to Stephen King. That's nice of you Dave.

Christian fully shreds on the ol' guitar. He kicks it into high gear but does it so cleanly. I really dug his bass line on this song too. He can really get those fat old strings flying too.

Thanks
scaustrita for dropping by. I think that Christian really burned it up on the guitar on this one. I'd have played accompanying axe on this but I don't think i could have kept up with the intense riffage.

You guys did a great job on Funkin' That New Stuff. Very cool stuff.

this is great michael. the intro is incredible...that drum beat is so catchy...especially in the sparse moments. i notice you tend to write about 'things'...as opposed to 'your' things. what are your things?

fasteddie said 1131 days ago (April 18th, 2010)
LOL
Julian, I'm an American. I live to excess. I have so many freaking things that I would never run out of material for all that junk. Thanks for hearing this one. Christian is really the driving force on this song. I just hope that my vocals don't detract from the drive of his guitar work.

Love the
pace of this Michael and Christian...Oh I think you managed to match the intensity Michael... bet you're fingers were on fire at the end of this. Love those bongos and all Sudden ending though... was it because of the fusion? LOL, regards M

Yeeeeeeee-HAH!
You guys are NUTS! This really rocks! Right up my alley thematically. The whole nuclear industry is a classic example of human HUBRIS. The assault on Gaia continues unabated. There is a price to be paid.

Nice chops guys!

Be well!

This really rocks - I like the latin beat over the heavy guitar works really well like Sepultura. Lyrics remind me of Sabbath circa Masters of Reality. Nice bassline too - really shifts.

Read
The description and comments first and was prepared for something really thick, heavy and full of attitude. I wasn't disappointed.
Drums are really clever working great with the excellent guitars to create a frantic atmosphere. Also loving the evil bass.
Cracking vocals again to boot!
Cool listen gents.

One word:
Authentic. From the awesome riffage to the hollow percussive elements this oozes credibility. The vocal performance is excellent too, it doesn't feel forced. The production here is spot on, radio ready professionalism.
A top hit.

You've got that unhealthy glow
Wow, this is fancier than a $12 hooker! There's nothing I can add beyond an "attaboy" here for a song that's tighter than a welfare cheat on a on a $12 hooker. As for the lyrics, what do you want first, the good or bad? The bad news is that Russia has lots of loose nukes; the good news is that nobody can remember where they stored them.

Bob
Hey, wouldn't that be bad news and worse news?

Thanks for listening to our elevator music. I know it's a little easier listening than most people would care for.

If I have $46. What's better? one $46 hooker or 4 X $12 hookers? I know, it's tough to decide.

Lovely
NOT! :-)
Man, still recovering. This is great guys. The percussion sounds awesome combined with the crushing guitar. Guys you need to put the sound of an alarm around 0:32 (it wasn't an idea, an ambulance passed outside just at that moment. Surreal).
The keyboard beds are killer, dark. And the bass, when I could hear what was doing... h**y shit!
And I loved to the point of admiration this is too short (3 times played already, I'm a very slow writer btw)
Michael, your voice is as sharp as always, but those little touches of chorus added another dimension to your voice. WHAT A KICK ASS TRACK!
