Description:
collaboration with Big Ol' D

Lyrics:
walkin down the street
shufflin your feet
always a treat
when your at my feet

the art is being you
the art of being you

sugar coated margaritas
on candied apple lips
sugar coated lies
whisper sweet alabies

you can see
the art is being me
the art of being me

champagne kisses
and cavariar dreams

the art is being
the art of being

Somewhat cool &mdash 01/01/05 - 08:34:10 PM
It sounds like you achieved what you had intended with
this tune but I think you would sound a whole lot hotter if
you pushed your voice harder. The sultry sexpot kind of
voice is sort of cool but it sounds to me like you've got
more stuff. Use it!

I loved the xylophone and chime instrumentation
with the subtle electronic sounds thrown in... pretty
unique. The vocals fit the mood well, but were a
little overshadowed by the music. Maybe the music
could have been toned down in areas to highlight the
singing? I don't think you need to "let loose" diva
style, because that would be horrible... but maybe
just a touch more variation?

I have to say I agree, regarding the vocals. I am really not the american idol
type and besides that i am definitely not hiding any great vocal ability! ha ha
Thanks for the comments.

I guess my original comment was lost when you re-posted
the song with the technical fix. Anyway, love it.

Cool &mdash 01/02/05 - 02:42:45 PM
Lounge vibe, the vocals are nicely done and are perfect for
this song and the music is excellent especially the
xylophone and the other misc sounds sprinked thru out.

Good start &mdash 01/02/05 - 07:03:24 PM
Goes for a bit of the old Jane Birkin at first (think that old
track "Je t'aime" with Serge Gainsbourg...) but there is
something a bit discordant about the xylophone that
grates a bit. That second line doesn't sound quite right.

But it's still quite charming. And that's good.

nice song! &mdash 01/05/05 - 02:55:28 PM
This moves along, nice choice of instruments. I like the
'noises' too. Very polished sound. Good job.

Effective breathiness &mdash 02/02/05 - 08:52:16 AM
I really like some of your lyrics, and your use of "ah." Very
effective breathiness. I'd love to hear slightly more
variation in your arrangement, maybe even a bridge that
could let you punch thru, show a different angel of the
sexy voice thing. Nicely performed.

I used that xylo loop in one of my first tracks.. I like it much. You should edit out the clips at the beginning and end.

I liked it but the scratchy sound clashes and just sounds like static. I'd say to loose that.
