Cool colors
The pieces of art you use along with your songs are very cool Vic.

It's a cool rock song. I wonder if you use some special Vic trick to get that cool sound on your vox... Do you by any chance double your vox track - like singing the song twice and using both tracks unison? I think Gilbert O' Sullivan used to do that, and it gives a special fx sound to the vox. There's a similar cool sound in your tracks, and I can't quite figure out what it is :)

the art here is a montage of photos created in photoshop. there will be more things added to it when i get some time to work on it.

no big effect for vocals. just the usual compressors, eq and some reverb. i do like you mentioned, i double track most vocals and usually add a third on choruses. i pretty much record a song the old school way, everything is played out.

totally emotional and i love it.i liked not being able to quite tell what the words were on first listen.I'm a bit of a geek like that - i like to make my own interpretations of lyrics,and am sometimes scared to read waat they really are cos it mite be something tottally different to what i first heard if you know what i mean,but chord progression in this is great - i love those chords - brilliant choice.RG

that´s a wonderful book.
So I had so restart, download the song and listen to the music again.
It is a furious yet mellow rock song.The solo is one of your best.

Imagination
Vic, this is great. Some of the chords connects me with the pixies. I didn't read the lyrics yet as I tend to focus on the music, and man, I love the mixed vibe of this: pop rhythm, sunny chords going darker, accordions mutating to heavy guitars and a seemingly happy voice singing a sad melody. I'm trying to imagine the lyrics now.
It may sound retro, true, but it's now.

Dang this is like the Screaming Trees travelling back in time to 1966 and then covering The Smiths with 60's technology. So may flavours and textures I don't know where to point my ears.
Someone recently said of one of my songs "like Vic Holman". On the strength of this song that's huge praise.

if you'd stop writing imaginary songs i might see them when you post rather than stumbling on them a week later. good concept since much of your stuff strikes me as dreamy - the vic 'sound' is dreamy - lots of dream metaphors and stylized dreamy vox and otherworld guitar effects. OK but what i like about this tune: killer solo. Fantastic. Super catchy chorus. the strummy verse with the airy synths - just a groovy, 'up', head bobbing kind of tune that makes me feel for a minute that its not so bad to be sitting at my desk.
