Description

When I first started dating the girl that would end up being my wife, she was a few months away from going away to college and I had plans on moving out of state. So we tried to convince each other that we weren't in a relationship. Our justifications were kind of embarrassing to think about, which makes it a fun song. Eventually we turned in our "too cool for school" cards and got hitched.

Any crits on the mix are welcome. The performance is sloppy but I'm still willing to take any crits on that, too.

	cool great song. I love shuffles. I would boost the vocals up a bit and cut the low end on the bass a good bit - its a bit woofy. otherwise I think this is totally cool. 	Woofy I had a very specific sound in mind for the bass and couldn't find it anywhere. I wanted it to be more up-front than usual. So I think I went a little overboard boosting the low end and then turned the volume up too much. The pic was in our saved pics on my computer. My wife must have been using it for something. great song
didn't sound sloppy to me... wonderful song in the classic "I'm not in love but I really am" genre.
filled with lots of tasty musical treats, really liked those little arpeggiated guitar bits, keyboards, harmonies, chord changes and too many other things to mention. the break around the two minute mark was awesome, like peak-period beach boys. dl'ed and into the ipod!

	Charming! What a sweet and likable song--production + performance are perfectly matched to the tune itself. I think I heard a microphone pop or two and I know there's a bit of rhythmic looseness in places but I actually think that contributes to the overall charm, not detracts. cute. yeah, that's right, it's cute.
in a knowing, wry kind of way. and that's the heart of pop, that teenage 'blowing bubbles on the outside and full of doubt on the inside' kind of posing. and it's a song about posing. so there you go, my thesis rests. also, the break is swell. the kind of brian wilson thing where he gives you a break to smile big and then go back to singing along.

Dude,

This should've been on the WALL-E soundtrack when WALL-E and EVA were having their G Rated love affair.

I mean that in the kindest way possible.

I would take my 6 year old daughter to see this band perform live and I would drop her off and pick her up at 3:00 PM when the concert was over. Then we'd go rob a 7-11.

Seriously, this is your muskrat love.

I love the story and you perfectly portrayed it in the performance of this song. Cute? Yes. Like a Hallmark moment.

I like the mix and your choice of instruments makes me think of Randy Newman. I almost want to hear a sloppier performance.

	Early beatles? It definitely has a 60s vibe. The mix is decent, but I'd get rid of that synth bass, and tame the low frequencies a bit in general: maybe it's my room but between 1:50 and 2:something there are some very deep noises that sound a bit out of control. 	Nice! Great harmony vocals! Has a Beatles feel and a Weezer feel to it at the same time, incredible. My only gripe is that the piano might be a bit hot in the mix.
