Lyrics
In the darkness, I feel safe, I can hide all of my mistakes.
In the darkness nobody knows the things that I do or where my mind goes.
In the light everybody sees, in the light everything that's wrong with me.
In the light i feel so exposed, I feel like everybody knows.
But in the light i feel like I'm alive, I can fly, Should I run to the light or
Should I hide? Run to the light? Or hide?
Should I run Should I run Should I run
Should I run Should I run Should I run or hide?
Run to the light!

nice tune
a solid, simply structured soft rock tune.
rhythm guitar could be a tad tighter, drum-loop is a bit boring but ok, vocals could be a bit more offensive here and there, I think.
another part would help to keep the soft mood interesting...

Agreed
I am a sucker with software Drums, haha, maybe we should invite someone to play real drums!! I don't know if it needs another part, though but I will try that for myself and see what comes from it.. Thanks man appreciated..

Run or Hide with JDHolliday
This groove reminds me of the Chili Peppers.
Yes, definitely more polished. Lead vocs are up in the mix, and I don't remember the shakers or synth pad at all from last version. New bg vocs too right? Sounds great guys.

Cool
guitars... Jangly and lead.
Sweet bass too.
Your vocal has a familiar feel. Interesting but very pleasing. Dig it man

More clarity for sure
I just listened to the previous version of this, and Charles' remix has certainly added some gloss. Cool vocals and guitars. Lots to like in the song and the mix.
My one nit (and it's a big one) is the drum loop - specifically the kick drum which, to my taste, is way too busy for this style of song. Maybe the bridge is big enough to take it, but it really distracts me from the rest of the music. This is a pretty good example of the hazards of using drum loops.
Good song though.

Thanks
For your constructive comment, I am trying to get a real drummer to play the drums for this one so we'll see...

I think I do agree
with Jiguma's assessment of the drum part. Way too repetitive. Too busy in the verse and maybe ok in the verse. Needs more fills too. Great concept being held back by the drums. Didnt think of it until Jiguma mentioned it

I meant
maybe ok in the chorus (not verse). Typo

Agreed
It was anyhow a "quick" song, hadn't really had time to do anything with the drums. I posted a forum question in "Wanted" for a real drummer.... see what comes from it, thanks for your comment..

Solid Rock n Roll
I agree with I.G.M on all the points especially the part about the vocal being a bit more offensive. I found it to be too reserved for the tune.
Peace

vocals
I too would like them to be louder in the mix. Also, if you;re willing to do another vocal take, I'd recommend tweaking the lyrics a little bit. I know the advantages of ambiguity, but here, i think, you could be a little bit more grounded so that the words and music can have as visceral an effect as possible.

cheers

oh but also
I loved the track, the background vocals were too perfect.

Don't know why...
... but I love the drums on this one. They have a strange rythm (at least I feeel it that way) that totally gives the song a personality. I'm not very useful at critiquing a song's mix or else... but I surely love the feelings on this one.

Feedback
Really good mix in the intro, clean and clear and well balanced. When the vocals come in, the reverb seems overdone and the vocals slightly too soft. (It may seem louder if reverb lessened.) The overall arrangement seems kind of repetitive, like it needed a change up somewhere. Also, consider using alternative cymbal crashes so it doesn't sound like you are cutting and pasting the same crash. Nice production.

Another great photo
I also have to say the vocal styling is courageous and fascinating, adds a layer of emotion and interest that I find compelling. I like the lead guitar flourishes, as well. If you are looking for arrangement ideas, I think you need to vary the female "oh" and organ part so that they don't become repetitive. In fact, the female vox in the background doesn't add anything in my ears. The song stalls out after a nice build, so maybe have it come to an all out stop before the final coda, then start up again creating a sense of drama, breath, and forward variation.
