Description
Forsooth - 'tis an Amglican double chant written in 2010 - the actual music is original and one which I wrote myself ie. not borrowed from the many available.

The subject was inspired after reading this about Levi Bellfield who had murdered Marsha McDonnell and Amelie Delagrange. He was also convicted of the attempted murder of Kate Sheedy.[1] -

"Bellfield was found guilty of both murders (as well as the attempted murder) on 25 February 2008. The following day, he was sentenced to life imprisonment with a recommendation that he should never be released. Bellfield was not in court to hear his sentence, as he had refused to attend court due to "unfair press coverage" following his conviction.

Despite the trial judge's comments, the European Court of Human Rights has been reviewing whether lifelong imprisonment amounts to a violation of human rights legislation. Should the court decide that lifelong imprisonment is unlawful, then Bellfield and all other prisoners serving such sentences in Europe would have their cases recalled to court for a new minimum term to be set" - can you believe these people?

It has since been reported that Bellfield is planning to appeal against his convictions.

Lyrics
Unshackled by a total absence of logical thought, the wheels of gullibility move again and once more cross the threshold of undiluted stupidity.

The european court of human rights, in all it’s glory and self imposed rightousness, stands alone, and proudly informs us, of it’s latest toothless policies.

Public enemy number one two and three, while exposing the depths of their unsurpassed naivety, will put the innocent and unsuspecting in mortal danger.

They enforce their deadly rulings, which have been known to turn sour, as it has now appeared so to have done in the case of thompson and venables.

Unwittingly, and without any claim of right made in good faith, they take it upon themselves, to defend the cause of evil, oblivious to any danger they may make, and out of touch with reality, they carry on regardless.

There is sometimes much gnashing of teeth, and anger, as their feeble solutions are laid before us. While we observe the often irreparable damage, that trails within their wake, and fuels our desperation.

They will continue to interfere and gamble with lives that are not theirs to gamble with. While we are left wondering, what sort of simpletons and shortsighted quarter wits bestow such power upon them.

This menace, that lurks deep within our midst, is like a giant serpent who has long forgotten where it’s own end is. Armed only with the foresight of Laurel and Hardy and a thimbleful of common sense, they are fighting for God knows what……..

How do they sleep.

Spot on
mate, and speaking as someone who works within the system all I will say that this couintry, and possibly all others is run not by politicians but by judges and lawyers who are so far removed socially and financially from ordinary people that they are quite comfortable in using everyday people as pawns in their game of financial gain for themselves.

Venables and Thompson are just a case in point...and pretty soon convicted prisoners may be eligible to vote.Serious consideration is beingb given to this.Think on.

It seems we think alike. Yes we do need human rights but c'mon hasn't it all gone a little too far particularly in relation to the criminal justice system? As you say these people are just too far away from the front line to make accurate and responsible decisions. Ah here comes that phrase again - "lessons have been learned" - well they certainly get enough practice!good to hear your view.

hello Dick
I think this is just a way of voicing many peoples thoughts on this subject which I feel very strongly about, you probably wouldn't believe some of the things I've found out. Personally I think that the court of human rights should personally be made to face the music when things backfire, and by that I mean custodial sentences for individuals who make these naff decisions. But you see Dick no one complains in bulk so they get away with it. It's called democracy !............Thanks for the visit fella.

I'm glad you approve, I have been experimenting with this stuff ever since I heard the [edited] rules of cricket done in the same way. One of the rare examples where the music is arranged to fit the words instead of the other way around.

You are
a truly remarkable artist John - great creativity and brilliantly done.
I might actually watch Question Time a bit more if the audience and politicians had to sing their points.
Cheers
Len

Hello Len,
I just felt better for writing it, if you were able to go back to the pre sixties and tell them what was going on today they'd just laugh at you and certainly wouldn't believe it. Thank you for commenting, much appreciated.

I am not aware
of British politics however I can relate to some degree. In Canada it is very hard to get and keep monsters behind bars. They usually have to murder multiple times and it usually has to be women or children. Our laws allow most murders out in as little as 10 years. While a father who released his child from a lifetime of insufferable pain will serve 15 years. (Mercy killing) It's everywhere and it's getting hard to to take. Thanks for this John.
Peace
