Description
Steve sent me a file of about 1 min a couple of weeks ago, with the name "kullu test", with a chain of heavy riffs to start a collab. I liked it, but for some reason Steve wasn't very sure. I asked for the same file without drums: I wanted to put some kind of Bonzo drums and see what could happen. I cut and pasted different parts of this guitar+bass file to create a longer song, and then added some drums with ezdrummer. In that moment we knew we had something like a song.
I asked Steve about the name of the file, if there was a story behind it. Kullu is a city in India where he traveled recently. While he was there he had some problems with the owner of the hotel he was in. His story reminded me of a trip I made to Peru, Bolivia and Ecuador many years ago. I mixed the stories and wrote the lyrics.
Enjoy!

Lyrics
Kullu Haze
2010 - S. West, B. Kirsch
I can remember the moon on the Kullu highs
I can remember my fate in the moonless nights
The things forgotten are those I miss the most
I don't remember your smell
I can remember the man with the golden tooth
I can remember the smile hiding the lies
He was selling some stuff I didn't buy
And I was buying some time
Kullu Haze
The last day I was there he called the priests
That crucified a man some time ago
Then I got off away without my shoes
The innocent is barefoot
Kullu Haze
