Description
A simple tune of Irish Folk music, of course I had to build it up for a large ending (I always do that it seems) The piece is in 3/4 (Waltz Tempo)

There are a lot of instruments in this piece but the most unique is a Swedish instrument called a Ni Nyckelharpa, thats the pic above, you play it with a bow, so if you thought it was some kind of fiddle I suppose it has similarities but few.

Other instruments-Dulcimer-River Bass-Tamburin (a cross between a Tambourine & a Drum) Irish Harp-Irish whistle-Orchestra Cymbal-Timpani-East/West strings-Choir-Piano- Accordion-and Recorder

So simple is not always as it appears..

On this Memorial Day weekend in the USA I thought an uplifting and fun bit of Irish might be appropriate..Have a good weekend my American friends..

Hope you like "Celtic Dawn" Cheers Shadow

Hardly Simple!
Lovely Dave! You are so very versatile (spelling?) and always surprise me. I play a little violin so I'll have to do some research on the Ni Nyckelharpa. Thanks for the most enjoyable listen with my first cup o'coffee this morning. Blarney!

Ni Nyckelharpa,
What a unique sound. Great instrument choices. Really love the Irish
whistle. The piano interlude is simply beautiful. I love the way it builds. The timpani is such a nice touch as is the cymbal washes.

Gorgeous lilt!
Wonderful tune, and you scored it superbly, love the builds. The Nyckelharpa is cool... and sounded like it was played live, as did the whistle... were these all samples, or did you play some?

Jeeze... the Nyckelharpa is amazing. And you feature is so wonderfully. A pleasure to hear something so unique, with these less-often-used instruments. The Irish Whistle is awesome... This whole piece is great. The entire mix decreases in volume when the strings (and/or choir?) come in around 3:24, and that sounds a bit odd. But overall, just a great tune, lovely orchestration. I really enjoyed this celtic folk piece; makes me want to try it out now! :)

stirs my Celtic blood. Lovely arrangement of instruments and beautiful melody. It almost sounds live. Perhaps a sampled ambiance of an Irish pub in the background......

I like it!
How interesting! All those great instruments! Do you play all of those??????? WOW! This is beautiful!

I can appreciate what you mean by 'simple is not always as it appears'. Sometimes the more simple the effect, the more precise and complicated the effort to reach it.

Celtic Dawn
once again, you've used these samples just superbly. that Irish whistle is gorgeous! especially with the dulcimer underneath. from the way this started with the very cool nyckelharpa, i would never have guessed it would get big, but you did an awesome job letting this slowly build. very very cool.
