Description
Paula Munk volunteered for a space mission. She got bored so she chirped a bit. Loops, vocal, effected. If it stinks, say so..and I'll trash it.

I like it. Spacy ahhhs and techno blips go together (Did R2D2 do a guest vocal for you?)

Oh Dave,
It is okay? I found the R2D2 stuff and thought it would kind of punctuate the thing. The ringing stuff was actually a drum kit loop that I changed. I started with that. I had to check on Outerloop to make sure it didn't sound the same. The ahhing came out okay, almost like a violin. The last time I tried that, I made it sound like wind and the whole thing was tossed. Thank you. :)

I love the laugh at the end of it.
But the rest is damned good too. Great little track Paula, very pleasing to the ears.

Really..?
I'm never sure. None of the people that excel at this have anything to fear from me. I am not taking these experiments seriously. All I have to work with is my voice. And when I get the right sound, I am both shocked and delighted. You are very dear. Thank you. :)

Well,
little Paula will back from her mission soon. She misses trees a lot. The chipmunk laugh was in Garage Band...otherwise, I would have done it. I was considering a chickmunk voice over such as, "Star date 6,3,2010...some moons and asteroids spotted.." Maybe, on the next one. Thank you for pulling up alongside. :)

Waw, that is superb
I like the closing part :-) the way you use the voice effects all along is great. This is very nicely done. The use of vocal effects reminds me a Pink Floyd song (called Keep Talking), the approach is quite similar and it is so nicely carried out here. Great work Char !

You are
way too nice. I honestly am not really familiar with Pink Floyd...so that is an interesting comparison I'll have to research. It was fun. They had a chipmunk, Too? Thank you. :)

No, you don't!
I am mostly frustrated because though there is a lot to choose from there aren't enough loops that fire my spaceship. I am making some of my own but that is hit and miss. If I could play keyboards, I'd really be good. (Next life, if there was one, I'd be tall and a pianist.) Thank you, Mark. :)

Bleep!
Hey Paula.

Thanks for your kind comments and welcoming words.

This is just the sort of groove I like late night with a little beer buzz and yes it gets me downright orbital.

Beep some sense into em I say!

When you say
you made it sound like wind(the violin on first attempt) ...are we talking the soft caress of a zephyr like breeze.....or something else?hmm, just curious.

Chris,
before this success where two vocals sounded pretty to me, like a violin, I had 5 distinct vocals that after manipulation just sounded like static and whoosh. I couldn't get it back to anything nice. A total waste of time, that was.
I was trying to build a choral or an acapella orchestra. I was more careful for this one. I didn't hit the vocals with all sorts of effects, but left them more natural. :)

Spinning, swirling, never ending ?
Kool and delightful. This is very well put together and has a sense of forward movement that is in contrast to the slower rolling of the synths.
I like it throughout and of course the ending is great.

Thanks,
Doug

That's very encouraging.
Thank you so very much. I am happy that others think I did okay. Cutting up loops can yield some nasty surprises for a non-musician. Thank You. :)

Very cool
what made me double take was the vocal in here. For the first 45 seconds I thought it was a keyboard. Wild, wild stuff. Very cool
