Description
"Her Blue Eyes" is a song written for and dedicated to a dear one. I write about anything that inspires me, and this time it was her. She has played an enormous role in easing up my first year in high school, or in the US for that matter, and simply realizing that you have such a friend beside you in your first year was an *achievement* by all means.

I had the piece finished within a week but getting to record/orchestrate it is what took me a long time. Coincidentally, by the time I finished recording it, I noticed that her birthday was coming up. I segued the "Happy Birthday" melody as a 2nd part to it (2:18) and sent it on her birthday last year. Since then, we became closer than ever and I truly appreciate the way things developed between us. It has been wonderful, and I hope things continue to blossom.

I re-recorded the whole song in a much better quality and performance. Here's the close-to-but-not-quite-the FINAL version. The mix was done in a hurry because I had to post it today (6/10)... it's her birthday... ;)

On a side note, I entered an acoustic guitar competition last year and they needed a 1-minute sample of an original piece, so my entry was "Her Blue Eyes." I didn't make it to the top 4 but all those who did deserved it. Here's the video, if you're interested:

I hope you enjoy it!

Thanks for listening,
- Yeman

This is gorgeous Yeman. beautiful underscoring with the strings. a nice soft bed for your guitar. you play so so well. nice little flute interlude, perhaps at some future look at this song you would consider having the flute continue to play during the second half of the piece in accompaniment to your guitar. this is a very special gift for someone special. wonderful yeman.

The beauty and enthrallment you produce with just a hunk of hollow wood and some strings Yeman--that takes a true and talented musician to accomplish. This was superb and very special. You make your instrument sing. Thank you for sharing it with us! Michael

I am not sure... I don't understand...
How is it possible that so much love and talent are packed into this young man? Yeman, this glows brightly with warmth and beauty, I was transfixed listening. Beautiful, and somebody's just gotten an incredibly special birthday present. I personally would have lowered the string volume just a bit, since although they do add some nice harmonies, the synthy sound detracts a little from the overall piece. Wow, this is excellent, Yeman, gorgeous composition and playing.

Very sweet
The first half of this track is very well done in how the orchestra goes from a soft backing to almost being the main role. Somewhere halfway you introduce a flute, but it doesn't really go anywhere. I would leave it out.

Overall a great listen. Thanks for posting.

Gentle
You do a lot with a few chords and your playing is sensitive throughout. I really liked the flute entry, but there wasn't much of it that followed. You seem to have gotten a bit bogged down at that point, slowing the tempo perhaps a little too much and then never getting your energy back. ... Or so it struck me. I agree with (someone above) that the strings need to set back a little and I would suggest "fiddling" with the treble knob to knock off a little of the high end stridency. You certainly have a good feel for what will work, though. I hope you will keep experimenting with your various orchestral instruments and mixing. You have come such a long long way in just a year or so. Looking forward to where you go from here.
Peace.

Fantatstic piece Yeman -
Is it just me - or have you acquired a number of muses in the past year? Whatever's happening it sure is bringing out the best in you. Keep growing and playing and posting. I like the orchestration you've worked into this piece - very tastefully handled.

You can be very proud of you work on this my young friend, it sounds beautiful. The way you slid into the Happy Birthday sone was elegantly done.

you skills on the guitar continue to grown, Yeman and it is inspiring listening to your work on the fretboard, and in the studio. I have no doubt you will have a wonderful life doing music until you are old and grey.
