Description

This is based on my song "Stars". JD made a great song out of it. So far we can see it as a first rough version and we are both very interested in what you people think of it. I for one am very enthusiastic about James great voice and the melody he made out of my first melody attempts I posted to him..

So any suggestions, comments etc very Welcome!! Thanks in advance

	Liked it All of the parts are done well and the production and mix is evident. Not sure how it all works together though. I dont think the melody gives the vocals enough to do and at parts the vocals and the rest seem to disconnect. Song structure was a bit difficult to figure out. 	What a vocal really like this. The vocals are superb and the guitar accompanyment just works so well. Not sure what else I'd do with it, apart from listen and enjoy. Nice
I loved the vocals and guitar in this one. The only thing I'll say is that I though the chorus was a little bit discordant. I think the way to fix that would be to either lower the volume of, or cut out, the more overdriven guitar. But that is actually minor in the larger scheme of the song. I thought it was excellent.

Simplify?
Nice lazy groove, classic tune. Way too much reverb on the vocals. I liked the drum tom/snare fills, but thought maybe you used too many. The cymbal crashes seem a tad over used. Consider using a cymbal ride or bell ride for changing up the verse feel. My overall impression was that this was kind of a mixed up arrangement, that it needed to become more solid, straight forward rock groove.

In response to your asking for comments...Love the guitar feel and sounds here. Very laid back and groovy. Reminds me some of Jeff Buckley stuff. Little too much reverb on the lead vocal and if I am completely honest with you I think I heard a couple of sour notes in there. Nothing too bad, but just off. I am jealous at the collabs I am hearing from you guys. Sounds like a lot of fun!

Add to what I mentioned on my first impression, since you asked:
I thought the intro was kind of unnecessarily amorphic. Too many sections lacked harmonic congruency, as if you are trying for an experimental (like the section 1:37-1:53). For the most part, this track doesn't rise to the level of the others you've been doing, lacks enough cohesion that starting over might be a good idea..?

I'd make into a straight ahead old style R&B tune.
