great stuff. excellent build. would never expect to find a
bambu flute in a piece like this, but did, and enjoyed.

Thanks. I've had that flute for some seventeen years but never used it in any
music of mine until this track and the one I uploaded the other day, "Whisper
Evermore".

I was inspired by your "Redwing" to include the ambient Texas sounds at the
begining and end. I recorded the sound at a cabin I lived in outside of Austin
a few years ago.

Laid back tune... &mdash 01/04/05 - 06:02:31 PM
for late in the day. Really liked your easy paced guitar playing. And the flute was a great addition. Gives the song a bit of wistful longing for slower paced times.

Really &mdash 01/04/05 - 08:44:45 PM
nice guitar playing smooth and mellow and the Flute was
a nice touch.

Wow &mdash 01/05/05 - 12:47:30 AM
Almost makes me wanna' pack my bags and move to
Texas!

Wonderful intimate soundscape that feels simple, yet
sounds a little more complex. I was especially fond of the
introduction of the second, deeper guitar.

Nifty Guitar Work &mdash 01/05/05 - 01:09:33 AM
You get some really good sounds out of that guitar. Very
tastefuly played, too. The ambient Texas sounds sound
more like a hiss at the beginning on my system, but I can
hear something at the end. Don't know if that's what you
intended. (7, 6, 7, 7)

I know what you mean about the sound in the begining. It's the sound of rain
but it's a little too much like white noise. I guess I'll change that. Thanks.

Well captured &mdash 01/05/05 - 05:10:14 AM
Great piece, I love the ambient textures you brought in.
There was a bit too much line noise (not sure if it was
intentional) for me, but I never liked the betales because
there recording quality was so bad. I've driven across
Texas many times, and it felt like I was there again.

Organic and alive &mdash 01/05/05 - 10:52:56 AM
Excellent. Organic and warm, alive and peaceful. Such a
nice blend of textures, surprising and wonderful. (only
thing, a loop repeats during the fade out, or seems to, a
kind of gear grinding sound, which distracts from the
wonderfully biological sense of the piece.) So satisfying,
this. Thanks.

nice work &mdash 01/05/05 - 03:12:04 PM
It's hard to beat a nice accoustic guitar sound. I like that
additional sounds that creep in and out. I don't normally
appreciate instrumentals, but this is a great piece.

you have such an even thumb when picking, no easy thing. interesting layers and sounds. birds, trains in the distance, summer day. nice, for the dead of winter.

man, some of the best acoustic guitar recordings -- pro
or am -- i've heard. seriously. so many times they sound
overprocessed and/or thin, but yours sounds rich and
inspiring. loved the track. and you know your way aroud
the fret board, too, fo sho. 8 10 8 9

great &mdash 01/07/05 - 11:34:49 AM
stands strongly. Don´t think you could add or take
anything from it.
Very natural and for me very enjoying.
What I enjoy the most is the beat I end up feeling from
your guitar playing (underlying) and at the same time
having it slow down and speeds up melodically as it
builds.
thanks for sharing this.

I would like to buy your CD. I'm working through your list
of songs and think I'm in love. (But I fall in love daily, so...)
(But this time it may be for real.)

It gives me the sense of space, open, airy.

I agree, flute could be drawn forward a bit.

Peaceful!

I always love these warm little tunes, with just a tiny edge to them,
and that being in the title "Mosquito"

Wonderful

Beautiful &mdash 11/21/05 - 04:34:03 PM
Beautiful song. I love the way it lazily drifts along, gives it a great country feel. Again impressed that you do so much with so little and are able to bring such musical complexity out of subtle riffs and melodies. The slide guitar is a great touch.
