Description
So I’m sitting around Sunday night strumming a guitar searching for an idea. I was becoming worried nothing would come. I placed a drum loop in a track and set it to loop continuously. Then I started to play with my amp modeling software hoping a sound would spark an idea. After finding a sound I kind of liked I detuned the bottom string of the guitar. The next thing I knew I had a riff. Now all rock guitar players know, once you have a riff, you have a song. After that the instrumental arrangement came together quickly. By Monday evening I sent a mix to Gaylen and asked him if he would contribute lyrics and vocals. This afternoon he sent back the mix we’ve posted here. He's an amazing talent. Hope you like it.

Lyrics
I spend my days spitting on the waves
The way a real man makes a wage
In some ways I hunger for a change
But I can never leave the water where I was raised
We've all got a family to feed
And it’s my honor to fill that need
But the mouth of corporate greed
It only wants me to bleed
What’s yours is yours
And what's mine is yours of course
Is yours to crush and grind
Your lucky I do right
Because where you sleep at night
Can’t be too hard to find
And so I pray for things to be the same
The way they were before you came
No I won’t praise or thank you for the save
Or for the money that you gave
You can’t keep a good man down
But there’s less good men going around
You and I are not the same
Don’t your daughters and sons look at you with shame?
What’s yours is yours
And what's mine is yours of course
Is yours to crush and grind
Your lucky I do right
Because where you sleep at night
Can’t be too hard to find
How do you live with yourself?
Money can’t buy you out of hell
Black crude suck get it suck get it suck
Your heart stuck up in the mucky muck
I know you don’t really give a fuck
Because if you did you’d give it up
What’s yours is yours
And what's mine is yours of course
Is yours to crush and grind
Your lucky I do right
Because where you sleep at night
Can’t be too hard to find
The way a real man makes a wage
In some ways I hunger for a change
