Description

I am trying to play with vocals. I wrote this last December 10th to someone's music. It wasn't picked up. Early this morning, I just selected a drum loop and let it repeat.
I sang the song twice, effected the second vocal, copied some lines and repeated them. I still don't know how to use the effects in the right plane.

Coolness, Char. The repetitive downtempo drums and soft synth really set this up... your slowly delivered lines are just off-kilter enough and delivered with velvet gloves to ensnare my attention to the end. I loved the anticipation of the line "and that would be... ... meee..." Well done, m'lady.

I knew what you meant.
I have ideas but mostly, I fail, in execution. It was a nice loop. I picked it out, at random, because of its bpm. And I thought, What the hay?" So, there are just vocals and that loop. I have a lot of "lazy" left over. You are welcome to some. Could I have a smidge of "know how" in exchange? :)

Impressive. THAT is something. The stripped down arrangement doesn't sound like "I didn't know what to put in." It is just right. The simple bass adds much. The drums are a bit too front and present but fine otherwise. When Ralph came in, I had a WTF moment, but then ... totally cool superposition. I like the effects on the vocals. Effective and not overdone. Really good job on that. So creative.

Hi, Reggie,
I think I had the volume down and panned the loop down, to the left, several notches. It is really hard to get that right. If I knew how to manipulate the whole thing with the effects in the right plane ( or knew what those things were), maybe, I could've got it to sound better. Ralph wants you to know that he insisted. He thinks you "athletic supporters" are sick of hearing just me. Thank you. :)

This further
proves my theory that you can get away with almost anything if you have a good vocalist. This genre is really not my cup of tea at all but its still interesting to me because of the interesting lyrics and vocals. Keep going with the experiments though because I am sure you will eventually hit the right combo of edgy and accessibility.

No, I think I'd hurt myself. A couple have asked me to rap... over the last two years, but that was as far as it went. They must have been joking. I could always surprise you, though, couldn't I? 	Coolness There you go, push it way out there. It gets kind of hypnotic. Hearing your multiple vocal tracks dancing around each is fascinating. Yeah I like this Char. It's nice and simple but very effective. Sometimes P.J. Harvey takes that stance. Like you I add effected second Vox. I don't use Garageband but in Logic you need only copy and drag to a new track and then edit that as you wish. Is Garageband not similar? Don't be in a rush to get over technical. Sometimes it doesn't improve an effective, relaxed style... Nice little groove this...

interesting creation. very filmic dream (nightmare?) sequence music. send it to david lynch. cool vocal delivery over a very hypnotic and engaging soundbed. i think this works well as it is and doesn't need hi-tech expertise....i like things acoustic and simple...so you can hear the singer and writer...and this is a crystal clear success.

too brutal for you. I have learned to like all kinds of sounds since I came here. It is like a course in music appreciation if you keep an open mind. First of all thank you for becoming a fan before I have been able to present my music on macjams. MJ being a first for me. I like what you've done here and the double vocal is very evocative. when I'm finally legit I will post a song I recorded arcapello but recorded the second vocal without listening to the first. try it, it produces an effect that cant be replicated by computer.
