Description
This is a song about how splitting up can really mash up your head (especially when the other person moves on with seeming ease). i deliberately kept this one clean and simple; acoustic guitar, lead vocal and some harmony.

Lyrics
The deal is done, a new chapter’s begun
And we’re sitting outside in this pantechnicon
The neighbours wave and you say goodbye
But all I want to do is get out and cry
And turn the clocks right back to another time
And I always thought we were part of the same place
Flying through time, hands that turn on a clock-face
All good things seemed to be within range
But it just goes to show how people can change
And turn into all the things you never liked about your parents
Now isn’t that strange
And I followed you blindly into this idyll that you created in your head
And it all came back to remind me that everything about us was loveless and dead
Loveless and dead
You left town in search of some worthy career
But the lack of confidence meant that I stayed here
And the loneliness kept me constantly in touch.
But I always got the feeling you didn’t miss me that much
Empty mailbox, empty days, empty glass of soda and scotch
And I tried hard to put it all behind me
wipe the slate clean and move on with my life
And I sent cards but I knew you’d never come to find me
And when you didn’t, it cut like a knife
And what i did, it made no sense, had no reason or rhyme
And the scene comes back to haunt us both, time after time
And what I did, I did as someone out of his mind
So maybe "forgive and forget" is too much to hope for this time
Maybe too much this time
And I followed you blindly into this idyll that you created in your head
And it all came back to remind me that everything about us was loveless and dead
loveless and dead.
You’re flying....you’re flying....
And we’re sitting outside in this pantechnicon
The neighbours wave and you say goodbye
