Description
Done on a cheap Yamaha 4 trk tape awhile back, (90s) and brought into the Digital world via a cheap Walkman tape player. I have noticed that the MP3 conversion really brings out the sonic flaws but the essence of the song is there.

It sounds great!
Especially considering the background on this track. Perhaps that's because the talent it contains is radiant and timeless. Beautiful work--I enjoyed listening to this song. Thanks again Neal--a good song to end the evening with.

do do do do dooo
this works. Classic structure and feel. Love the "throw-back" lyrics. Simple and clean instruments. And jibes, your sincere vocal is spot on. Your songs are always such a fine listen. This one is no exception.

do do do do doo.....

Thanks
Dadai. It's one of those songs that is kind of off the cuff. I thought at the time the lyrics were pretty lame but I have accepted them.

Where you going?
This recording is so fat sounding. There's a bottom end to this that just sits so well. Yeah you can hear some tape flaws (pops, noise), but the song is wonderful. For that reason you have to share it. It also says something about you as an artist. You could have gone back and recorded a pristine digital version. But the song and the moment were what matters. So here they are. Glorious!

Thanks
so much. If I remember correctly I must have had a virtual midi setup and a sequencer running it. Korg M1 I think. All done on a four trk cassette machine synced to the 4 trk. Then as I mixed down I played the lead Guitar part and perhaps added the vocal too. A pain because if you mess up you have to start over!

sort of
merseybeat beach boy sound on this, well saved and revived there .What guitar was /is it? It has a really nice tone but I cannot place it,sounds like a hollow body?
jibes said 1059 days ago (June 26th, 2010)
Thanks
so much. The Guitar is either a Strat or an Ovation Tornado. I don't recall which. The Ovation is a hollow body so I'm leaning towards that. The Ovation is a great sounding guitar.

Great Song
I really like the lyrics & vocals. I think the track sounds fine, no flaws, at least to my ears.

Where you going?
Man, I gotta get my hands on some of that cheap equipment if this is the result! Great tune, reminds me of the Dead. Great vocs, nice rolling bass line, guitars are sitting so well on top of it, some really tast choices on the breaks. Kudos!
