The Night Diana Died

Description
Written & originally recorded the night Princess Diana died. Not a tribute, more like a coincidence. Guitarist, seeking title for instrumental piece, gloms onto world news event.

I remember...
so well that night. I was driving through the night from Pennsylvania to Florida. The only thing on the radio seemed to be about Diana's car accident and death. Your tune (wonderful guitar) transported me back to that long drive, the endless dark roads, and the sadness of the news. Though, as you stated, this is not a tribute, it seems an apt tune full of acoustical induced reflection.

Thanks. I have thought about renaming it, but for me, once a song is titled,
changing it would be almost like changing the name of one of my children.
Kind of strange.

Thanks again for commenting.

Nice guitar stuff
Like your guitar work!
I like that galloping motion.
Nice ideas.

I liked how you doubled up in the some of the parts. Nice
recording work.
Then speeding up, nice.

thanks

Fluid
Excellent. Great key changes. Artistic fluidity, movement,
motion, momentum and changes. You use a rhythmic
structure as a wonderful theme and variation, moving thru
subtle style changes. Interesting use of stereo. The
ending fizzles. Perhaps it is a metaphor, but fails to
frame the very cool body of the piece.

So Clean
it is like a mountain stream cascading down with crystal
clear water. I do so admire your technique. The first part
of this song is some of the best stuff you have done for
my personal taste. I just love the sound of steel strings
going off in so many directions but all blending in the
end. Acoustic guitar forever!! 1977 was the year I left
Louisiana and moved to Austin and have never looked
back.

I guess I could be a 'poster child' for MacJams. I joined the site on New Year's Eve 2004, after several years of not making much music at all. A long dry spell. Since then, I have posted more than 50 songs here, collaborated with some wonderful arti... [see more]
