Description
Here's a little song about the great MacJams meet up at Jack Hemby's house down in Greenville, Texas, July 9th and 10th of 2010. I produced this song because I had plans on being there for the fun, and I thought maybe the gang would like to do there own version of this song by replacing any or all of the parts I've done with their own. Kind of make a MacJams "Texas Style" collab out of while we were there.
Well as it happened, we didn't get to working on this one there, so we'll be putting together those replacement tracks at a later time and posting it once it's all done. That's gonna be inspirational to be sure, with all the talent that was there for the get together.
Jeannie and I went down there and had the wonderful time with our friends, so we want to dedicate this song to all the friend we've made here at MacJams, and especially to my Baja Oklahoma buddies, Jack, Kim, Terry, Patrick, Andy, Maureen, Mark, Ryan, Jim, Sheila, Chris, Gail, Victor, and Josh, all that south of the border crowd, (South of the Oklahoma border that is) Of course Mark, Chris, and Sheila are actually either Yankees from north of the Mason Dixon line, or in the case of Sheila from the wilds of Canada, but they're still some of our best friend. Then there's Terry from just north of Baja Oklahoma, an upstanding citizens from below the Mason-Dixon line and proud to be the Rebel he is. All of you are the best friends anyone could ask for, and some of the finest musicians I've ever known. It's also dedicated to Joe, John, Harold, Damien, and Randy who didn't' make it to the Texas -Again McJams meet up this time, but Good Lord willing we'll see them there next time.
So I hope you enjoy my celebration of MacJams Texas-Again or as Patrick calls it McJams, (and yes Patrick I will take fries and a drink with that), and the great times we've all had doing music together.
There will be another version of this song coming along as soon as all the individual parts from this fine group of players are loaded into the song file and mixed in. That one will be a true celebration of the spirit of MacJams, and the sharing that goes on it this fantastic community of Pickers, Grinners, Losers, and Winners
From Jeannie (slopartner )and I (sloparts), Enjoy the music, and the friendship of MacJams,
Ed
The only loops used in this were for the drum parts. Everything else is live Guitars or Bass that I played.

Them Pickers, Grinners, Losers, Winners - (Ain't nothing' hotter than Texas)

Verse
Ain't nothing' hotter than Texas, in the middle of July
Spec-ly down round Greenville, when the music starts to fly
Them pickers, grinners, losers, winners, pull out a guitar
And lay down a little boogie leanin' up against a car
That music soothes the soul, of folks around the block
Spec-ly when those Country boys really start to Rock
Pickin'Verse
Chorus
Well MacJams is the reason, all of us are friends
Sittin' here on Hemby's porch, the music never ends
Those pickers, grinners, losers, winners, haven't got a care
Just pass that guitar down the line, and kick back in a chair
Verse 2
Ain't nothing' hotter than Texas, when MacJams comes to town
Them pickers, grinners, losers, winners, can really lay it down
From Funky Blues to Country Swing, and all that's in between
Sometimes they'll even start to play, the Queen of New Orleans
The main thing that they do, is have a lot of fun
Pickin', grinnin', loosen', winnin', in that Texas sun
Pickin'Verse
Bridge
Pat, & Jack, & Mark & Andy, Sheila, Joe, Damien, Randy,
Jean & Ed, and who knows who, maybe Harold Luper too
Wouldn't it great, if maybe John could come on down
We'd blow the lid right off this, little Texas town
Chorus
Well MacJams is the reason, all of us are friends
Sittin' here on Hemby's porch, the music never ends
Those pickers, grinners, losers, winners, haven't got a care
Just pass that guitar down the line, and kick back in a chair

Friendship in a song! Beautiful! The chorus rules! And that be some smokin' lead guitar!
