Description
Just a little song which I had an idea for playing guitar in the garden. I came up with this progression. It is totally different from my other work, but what the heck!!! I used my be-hated Ovation for this, and I really can't fingerpick but gave it a try in the verses...

Not so sure about the structure, I really like the verse, but pre-chorus and chorus may be to weak?? Pls comment and I will be gratefull forever!!

I'm not usually one to like deep effects on an acoustic guitar, but I really dig the flanger effect here. These changes are beautiful. The A sections are particularly wonderful. I like your fingerpicking. The top notes in each voicing pop. I really like the 2nd guitar (the one on the right) during the fade. The counter melody it's playing is beautiful. That could be the basis for a background vocal, or maybe better yet that's the perfect chorus melody. There's nothing weak about this. The right lyric and vocal will complete this.

well well well
one of my top favorite macjammers is back with another treasure, this is really very good Egbert, I like how this shows your diversity,
And your fingerpickin is pretty darn good!
I am so happy to see you post another piece and this one is a definite keeper!
It's a cool progression, what are the chords? BPM? Key? ;-)

Sounds like you're going AABC. The B section provides a good transitional chord to get to C where the hook would most likely be. I think it's taking a little long to get to that point though about 1:25. I've been told by some to get to the hook in a minute or less. Consider eliminating an iteration of the A section, that should do it. Then extend the pattern to
a more traditional ABCABCDABC. If you like the idea of beginning with A twice, consider using AABA. In this form, there would be a refrain line that would repeat most likely that listeners would use as an anchor.
Picking sounds good, nice changes.

ROFL
Be-hated, good one. I am not a huge Ovation fan either, Good for live shows though. I hear a lot of potential in this one. I am assuming you are going to put some vocals over this, sounds like James might be on the case from the looks of his comment. I will be interested to hear what he comes up with. I think your picking is very good in this song, it works. Keep up the good work

Nice Chorus
I love that chord at :34 . . . . and again the chord at 1:10. The hollow wooden-type percussion sounds compliment the fingerpicking in the verses perfectly; that is just a really, really nice sound pairing. I don't think the chorus (or pre-chorus) is weak at all. I like it very much.

Long time no hear ....
Hey so nice to hear you again. I personally don't think the Chorus part is weak, if you think the song will be eventually non instrumental. The verse part is very rich, but I think it would work very well with vocals.

Nice cool song buddy.

Wonderful
Nice seeing/hearing you again. This is very pretty, it flows beautifully. Would be nice if you laid down some vocals, but it sounds just fine the way it is. Great stuff!

Egbert
I really like the transitions here and your finger picking is better than you think. Now me being a bassist, I hear all kinds of counter movement that could create some tension and release. This really beautiful, I can't wait to see where you go with it.

Very nice
Some very pretty and enticing sounds here (what you have here is excellent) but as an instrumental track the melody line is very hard to discern so yes, a mite weak there. I'd probably suggest adding a vocal (of any kind, doesn't even need lyrics, but humming or what have you, or perhaps a lead instrument--I'm thinking a woodwind would go well with this) to bring that out more and apart from the track to make it more memorable. Very good work on this!

Solid
just crying out for the vocal. Even sounds like it was picked out in a garden! can't wait to hear the final although I think it could work particularly well with a female vocal. Cheers Mark

sweet pleasantness.....
a nicely conveyed acoustical arrangement...has a very sweet pleasantness that is hard to describe....perhaps what you were feeling in the garden. Vocals or not....I think it stands on its own quite well!

i have a love/hate relationship with my ovation too
i was just thinking the other day i wanted to use it to start a fire. tinny, 80's POS! but then when you want that sound, nothing else has it. anyway i like this, great changes. i can definitely hear some airy backups here and there. and it could carry a vocal easily if that's what you wanted to do. i think it would make for a great folk/country tune, something along the lines of pure prairie league. that's my 2.3 cents.

This is
BEAUTIFUL!! I like the flanger on the acoustic too. I have tried to pull that off in the past with no success. The next time I try I come to you for advice because you seem to have got it right. Nothing weak about this at all.
Peace
