Description
This song was written by a MJ artist named Clay Potts. He is pretty low key around here.

I found this song at his page and commented that it was a song other artists wish they had written; as well as an off the cuff remark about how I would like to cover it. Shortly afterward I got a message saying thanks, and go right ahead, so I did. This is what came out.
It is the second song I have sang since quitting smoking. My vocal has improved immeasurably. I love this new found control which has allowed my confidence to grow. I never thought about covering another MJ artists song until we had that MJ cover challenge and that planted the seed. One of the most enjoyable things about this site is how it indirectly affects and influences us on a daily basis, and the art that is created as a result.

Thank you Clay Potts this was truly a joy to sing this beautiful song.
This backing is 100% Clay Potts all I did was sing it and I hope I did it justice. The artwork is from Clay as well, it is the same as the original.
Side note.... I had trouble matching the reverb of the backing with my vocal. I am aware in places it sounds off, but I recorded it with the vocal processor reverb on, and by the time I realized it, I had this take. I decided to try and tweak it in the mix and just go with what I had.
Peace

Lyrics
She Looked Delicate As Lace
By Clay Potts
©CPPK2010
When "Stick Em Up" got angry
He'd try to slash her face
I beat the bastard silly
She was delicate as lace
Brought her back to my house
I consoled her as she cried
Lord forgive this woman for her sins
Jesus shall provide
I've got a lady of the house now
Could be just what I need
It started out with so much promise
Brother let me bring you up to speed
First she drank all my whiskey
Then she poached my stash
My credit cards supplied her habit
For sex with me she wanted cash
There were crack heads on my doorstep
Five, six, or seven deep
Bag Bride Bag Boy Bed Bugs
Copping Zone discreet
Every ashtray overflowing
Every toilet left unflushed
Soiled laundry everywhere
This filled me with disgust
This mission wasn't mercy
My heart was in the right place
When I beat that bastard silly
She looked delicate as lace

your voice sounds great! Great backing tracks for you vocals... very nicely done (and believe me... every toilet left unflushed left me with disgust too)!. Always a fan but you know that already!
