Description

Last Thursday I saw Christopher Nolan's Inception and what impressed me the most (the whole movie was an all-around awe-fest for me) was Hans Zimmer's score. One of Zimmer's best and without a doubt one of the film's strongest points.
Then last night, I sat down at my computer and wanted to write an Inception-style cue.

This is what happened.

Just saw the movie
a few days ago myself. Plus, I think you have to wonder what are black ops military (billions of dollars of tax payers money) is up to especially some of the dream related titles for some of their companies? The list goes on. This is really something ! You definitely got the gift E ! Love the strong symphonic ending ! Wow ! Ya it does have a Hans Zimmer feel to it !

	beckoning the reckoning The mood creation here, reminds me of some of those movie scenes, where the composer tries to reflect the overall feelings, of those that are about to do battle. compelling indeed
Very satisfying and compelling music, and yes, I hear the Zimmer-esque soundtrack quality, but definitely a bunch of Einar-talent shows through too. Great lyrical melody throughout. I'm off to see the movie this Friday, and now look forward to the music (now that I know it's Zimmer) as well as the CGI and storyline, which hopefully will all make up for DeCaprio being in it (smirk.) Great choice of instruments and super mix and dynamics.

the movie was incredible
and Hans' score was jaw-droppingly good. This is very impressive - great use of the low frequencies, creating a richness and depth - although there were a few places where it got a little too muddy in those depths. Perhaps tweaking the EQ a bit would help that. Great build of energy and drama and your use of those E/W samples is great - gorgeous sounds.

	Einar Love that deep low end percussion in the beginning, how that sad and lone violin grows in intensity, speed and pitch, while everything around wakes up and gets darker and darker. Somebody have to make a movie just to put this music in it. Check out my latest song called Everything

Inception
Killer movie, loved it. Had me thinking after the movie for quite a while. This piece is loaded with cinematic tension. Really cool instruments. Amazing, I assume this is MIDI but it is REALLY hard to hear it. The instruments sound so realistic. Great composition here. Wouldn't be surprised to see you get some work doing this for a living if you aren't already. This is really really good.

Find out if Zimmer needs an assistant....

You make a great argument for purchase of a subwoofer. I have always liked the intelligent way that you put growl into the low end, and I continue to appreciate your way with the bass frequencies.... You seem to get how to use that end of the musical spectrum for expression without doing Cheap Bass Tricks...

such pleading...
The opening viola/violin solo and that haunting pulse from percussion just draw me into this number from the first notes. I really enjoy that cello entry around 1:30 and its subsequent counterpoint. It's like another singer offering commentary. Most efffective. There is such a brooding, dark quality to all of the background rumblings that end up really plaguing the listener, asking for release while you offer none. I have only one complaint: this is too short!!! You've created a rather profound environment here, not a mean task. Very impressive.
