Lyrics
I guess the lies came too easy
and the truth became too hard
some nights we felt so real
like I'd fallen out of my heart and into yours
and it felt right
but it was the wrong time in two lives that were dividing
one day too little, the next too much
and your good nights were not nearly enough
no, your goodnights were not nearly enough
who knows why goodbye took so long
you made it here and I came home
but just the once
but it wasn't home any more than any other four walls I've paid for
no it wasn't home, well not mine
it was just another station on this rail line
just another stop on this rail line
still got a ticket to the end of the line
and the truth became too hard
some nights we felt so real
like I'd fallen out of my heart and into yours
and it felt right
but it was the wrong time in two lives that were dividing
one day too little, the next too much
and your good nights were not nearly enough
no, your goodnights were not nearly enough
who knows why goodbye took so long

I really like the sound of the strings on this Dan, and your vocal is really just right (reminds me of Peter Blakely). I also like the way this lifts with the drums before the little break section. Great use of percussion too. A good song with a very classy production to boot + well thought out arrangement - no nits to pick!
Excellent.
Cheers from the Deep South.
