Lyrics
For countless years the natives have worked fingers to the bone to make a safe and wealthy way of life. And then they opened up the gates for international trade but there's always a down side.
Stinking of foreign hair, drunken and fighting. We are the gaijin.
A sweaty, loud and hairy bunch, ignorant of writing. We are the gaijin.
And we've come to take your women and jobs underneath the guise of Specialists in Humanities. But the English teaching game was made by racketeers, so there's no need for your niceties.

Definitely
STE all the way here. You have your own style and I would stay with it. Sounds great. You added a little bit of blues influence into your vocal on this song though. We've come to take your women and jobs, lol. The guy in the pic isnt doing either of those I would wager!

Bring back the Samurai!!!

Hey Ste, this is rockin' good fun with a serious message. Love your vocal in this man. (You sound a little like a very young Donovan Leitch, from back in his "Sunshine Superman" days.)

My fave by you so far I think. Keep 'em coming man!

Be well!

Cool song!
You really know what you're about--this is solidly professional STE. Great work all around and this was like a modern, updated Kurosawa film, but only in music if that makes sense! Thanks for sharing. (Michael)

great song, great lyrics. i love the simple background vox you've got in here. i'm usually not a big lyrics listener but yours are always clever and thought-provoking, so thanks for sharing. i really like the musical style and ensemble of instruments here - it totally fits both your vocal style and the feel of the song. great job ste.

Gaijins
I like your approach and translating your eastern experience here, there is always you carry to the listener, in addition to the very nice and light music you do. Love the style.

But one can't reproach the gaijins being ignorant of writing huh ? Well, it's not the easiest thing to learn ...

Unique
Hate it when put any kind of adjective in front of "unique". Really unique, quite unique, almost unique etc. This is simply unique. A brits perspective on the Japanese way of life. My sons coming over on a school trip in October. Whish I could get him to listen to some of these instead of "Five fingered death Punch"!!! Excellent. Mark

Disturbingly poignant lyrics, delivered, as you do so well, in a tasty pop-punk package. Short and bittersweet, perfect!

Cool song ,whenever i hear your songs i am often reminded of the TV Series Shogun and the portrayed attitude of Nipponese towards the Gaijin.....has it changed much,or are now we a neccesary evil?

Is that how you feel about your compatriots and your own presence in Japan?

I like the song. A bit of compression could probably add some excitement to the drums.

another great tune
"Specialists in Humanities" ROTFL! Fantastic man. Great sounds - love that shrieking organ. Which would be a great band name btw. Sing along groove with wit that always stays safely this side of silly. This is what the Police would have sounded like if Sting had a sense of humor.

May I say:
1) you had me from the start, but...

2)then you sealed the deal with the smoothest vocals, but...

3) you wrote some "take no prisoners"lyrics.

This is one amazing song. I know it is but..
I can't tell you why I think so, because I don't know how you did what you did that made it sound like this. It is really a great listen. Congrats.
I dig your stuff. You are one of a kind. :)

Great work, very enjoyable.

we are guy-aye-aye-jins
Great and funny tune, very consistent stylistically with some of your previous tunes--in a good way.

I always enjoy reading your paragraph-style lyrics and hearing how they turn into sung verse. I think Natalie Merchant used to do that too.

Hilarious and, unfortunately, true.
As a former 'Specialist in Humanities' this perfectly encapsulates the situation and some of the attitudes over there. A lot of dumb gaijin take advantage of the Japanese and a lot of the Japanese resent them for it. It is a joke, and it is a scam but there were some people there who genuinely loved Japan and enjoyed teaching english well. I sat somewhere in the middle.
Anyway, cool song with a great chorus. I love your voice - there's a Smiths quality to all this.

Short and sweet. Great vocal phrasing and interesting lyrics, though to be honest I'm not entirely sure of your message - probably because I haven't a clue what a gaijin is! None the less an enjoyable tune to move to - thank you for sharing this!
