Please note my (hopefully) final mix of this tune here: Oasis On The Rocks.
This is the first remaster of a song I posted last week: Oasis In Your Palm v1. I tried to make this mix warmer, boost the guitar solos slightly, moderate the sax level while making it sound slightly more alive. Let me know if its a subtle improvement. (In headphones, the mix is balanced, maybe even favoring the piano, due to stereo field clarity. On small laptop speakers, the sax dominates and bass is almost not there. In studio speakers, its sounds just the way I want it to. So hard to find the right mix.)
This is the first in a series of instrumentals I've been working on with saxophonist Woody Mankowski. I will be posting several more, in the jazz-bop genre as well as jazz funk. If it works out, we may branch out into other music beds I've had laying around in other genres too.
This song has kind of a desert feel, yet also is a good cocktail song. We can all carry an oasis in the palm of our hand, no matter what the desert around us can do... don't you think? Also, would "Oasis On The Rocks" be a better title?
Drums: Dane Richeson
Bass: Arthur Kell
Guitar: Elliot Friedman
Project 2010 with Woody Mankowski (so far):
Seafood Gumbo Bop
Oasis On The Rocks
Saddle Shoe Sally
Vocal variations of this series:
Seafood Gumbo w/ AngelaHope
Older collab with Woody:
River Runs Through Me
If you haven't heard much of my jazz stuff, please check out all the draft mixes that ended up on the album RAIN BATHER. Maybe start with I Wanna Fly. Woody also plays on most of those songs.

I had this playing in my office at work and the mix sounded good as/or better than the radio stations I listen to. Great job.
Enjoyed - Thanks for sharing,
