Description
One of my major influences in music is and was Vangelis his early synth recordings had a profound effect on me..
In this piece which is my original composition, I try to recall his minimalist style for composing using just synths, percussion with some choir..He is the master at using simple themes and building them into large piece's with strong melodies. His later work using full orchestration are some of the best examples of these building Technic's

I have recently posted a video as well on you tube using this piece..

Hope you like "Floating"

Vangelis
This compares very favorably with the Vangelis sound Dave--you set out to do what you described in your intro with skill and panache. Enjoyed!

Cool retro sounding tune. Intro chugging synth reminded me of that old "Miami Vice" theme, but then your lead voice (french horn) took it in a different direction

Floating
Dramatic piece. Impressively organic considering the use of analog synth sounds. Love the percussion. Always pro mix and production.

Floating
This song really does give the impression of floating.

It is so light and lofty.

I really like the way the drums eventually start to kick in with the rolls in just the right places.

Good stuff.

Real
Nice. Great work. You've captured the illusion of lots or room or space.
As this builds my senses liven up.
I really like the old school synth sound.
Top stuff

excellent track. i like the structure, choice of synths and the layering. plenty of breathing room here without being sparse.

Recently I listened quite a bit of
Vangelis. I'm also a big fan of his music, and like you said, he has a great way of putting together great music, in a very simple way. This influence is audible in your works, but there are different pieces where you did real complex stuff brilliantly.

I love this piece Dave it's such a nice work.

Dave, you are so easily influenced, hehe. This sounds so awesome, paired off with my morning coffee = perfection. Great piece, Shadowman!

Dave
nice production. The sound field is full and clear. Particularly like the build at the 2:38 mark and again at 4:22. Nice work.
