Description
Working with GarageBand. I was using an 8 track. But now I am trying to use my usb 122 Taskam and just plug into that to get a little stronger feel.

It was tricky for me to get the usb interface to work right with out the 8 track. But I think I am finally starting to get the hang of using it alone seperate from the 8 track.
Later on a added a little slide and utilized a pickup that I set up for the acoustic guitar.

Folk for the upper-class
Nice picking! This is an unusual and crafty composition blending (to my ear) folk, blues, and classical. The guitar sounds quite good, so you must have a pretty good handle on your recording method.

I wish I had a little more familiarity with folk music, because I think some small changes to the drums would would add some interesting flavor to this piece. I'm at loss however as to what those changes might be.

Thanks for the compliment!

I did a whole lot of takes (archives.band), this one that I uploaded was take
11.
I am not a drummer but I tried very hard to do the best job I could
but there is something very interesting in trying to do the rhythm.
I noticed in GB that there were instances were I needed to go smaller in the
midi editor that what GB allowed. GarageBand V.1 only go as far down as 1/
32 but when I went to MacWorld in San Francisco I went over to Apple's GB
booth and noticed that now GB 2 goes to 1/64, so the midi editor will allow
you to move the drums notes into a smaller box. Allowing for more precise
beats. I have not mastered GB by any means but it is sure fun to work with.

If there is any real¬?skilled drummer in GB I wouldn't mind uploaded my Hip
Pocket archive.band file, I could save it as a .sit for easy downloading and
maybe get a fresh idea on the rhythm!

In my earlier takes, I was not happy when I put more crashing cymbals, I
guess it's the acoustical side of me coming out. The earlier versions are more
watered down, I could upload it if some people want to hear one of them.

Thanks
Bill

with the guitar! This song is such an upbeat and pleasant
tune! Thanks for sharing your comps here at MJ.

Ditch the drums
Love the guitar, but the drums seem funky, almost like
they are dragging you down in places. Such a light, airy
piece, but those clunkers don't seem to fit.

(I tend to object to anything that gets in the way of a good
guitar...)

Ditch the drums
To: Tom

I think one thing in this tune I am trying to learn how to record and engineer
better. By adding instruments it helps me learn how to deal with other
instruments. Plus, even though I have played classical guitar and such. I can't
forget my roots and that is Elvis. I would be a phony if I forgot the music I
listened to when I was a kid. I still love some of his tunes.

Thanks

Bill

Isn't fun though!
Hi Tiler, multitracking/learning/creating and engineering
makes the whole process of creating music endless!

I like this track but I dont get the jeans on the guitar
Hehe! Is this the track you would like me to play keys to?

Take care

Thanks for your thoughts on the title.

Names can be a challenge to think up.
I'll try to be more creative on the next one.

Thanks
Enjoy your playing!
Good luck on the collaboration!
