Cool
Very cool. lots of energy.

awww white heat it tickles me down to my toes...
This is so measured, it really creates a mood (and yes, I had to give the Velvet Underground a shoutout). It has great movement.

As weird as it sounds, I actually would have loved some white noise, (akin to fuzz pedal sound) in the mix. Something in my ears wanted the sound to be a bit blurrier on this one.

That said, this is pretty excellent, and is going on my itunes.

Cool !
I like how the melody builds up. It's such a quality work you do Vic.

the syncopated
movements between instruments is really captivating and the build works really well to pull you into the track. In some crazy way I can hear (with the right vocalist) lyrics somehow .... a nod to the Beatles at the end? Really nice tract Victor .... downloaded and thanks.

Syncopation
That was what I was playing with here: the basic rhythm is 4/4 but various parts (especially those synth stabs) play in 5/8, 6/8, 7/8, 11/8 over it. I was going for a very fluid feel.

Thanks for the comments. And no, the Beatles were never on my mind during making this track.

Hot !
But then you would expect that from something called "White Heat". An interesting and very well done track Victor. Like the way you slowly build it up, but it feels unfinished in a way. That's probably because I wanted it to play on longer, but it could be because it still has more to do , like another movement or something.

Very cool sounds and an excellent mix my friend. I think I'll stick this one on my iPod.

Sockless
I like the build, the 3 dimensionality, the minimalist feel. But I really dig the photo. Looks like the French riviera sun. I'm hoping that's you luxuriating. The little DIE written behind his hand holding the cigar (?) is a genius touch...

Interesting way of putting it. All the incidental synths are summed through a bus that has my secret (ok, now no longer secret) weapon on it: the RaySpace reverb. A truly cool plugin that literaly (and I literally mean literally) lets you design the acoustic space that the listener and sound source are in. I'm rather pleased with the sound I got here.

Oh, the picture comes from the Sartorialist blog. Not the first time that I've grabbed cool people off it.

Neat
I like electronic noises, so his was right up my alley. Very nice, I like the build-up throughout the track.

Mesmerized
Mesmerized- I don't know how you did the bass part of this track, but it sounded stellar on my phones. I think this would make a great soundtrack. Well-done. This really gets into your ears.

Bass
All of the synths on this track are the Logic ES2, and the bass (like most sounds) come from the Prototype soundset that I bought the other day. You're right, it's a very good sound.

Thanks for listening and commenting.

White Heat...
not exactly Jimmy Cagney... ;-)

but I gotta say, much more enjoyable to listen to. Vic, good job on this, bringing in so many "voices" to sing this instrumental. Each distinct, clear, and adding to the the whole. So fine. I dig it.

what nice timing
compression and timing just about MAKES this song - bizarre, but, really. I could just about loop it 3 times and that would be fine; but in the progression it could go into a major as a bridge

fine listen.

Major
The song has 4 sections that have a slightly different character. Gm Eb Dm G. So yes, ends on major. I could probably have added more sections, but I felt that this was enough.

Victor,
The stabby, percussive nature of this grabbed me right away. It is so unusual, but in a good way. At the 1:50 mark it gets a different feel in the beat and then some of the more interesting sounds manifest. Then the turn at 2:38 brings some mirth for the ending. Very provocative piece.

Mixing time
The mix of time signatures works great. Really smooth flow. Not easy thing to tame all those dispersing tracks to resolve into one. Interesting breaks to sync the main melody with the backing. Very well done.

But Such Pretty Noise
That's just the sort of noise I absolutely love to listen to. This was haunting and beautiful. I really like the way the trumpeting syncopation punctuates the smooth arpeggiated chords. Wow, the longer into it I listen, the more I like it. :)

Love the ....
polyrhythmic stuff going on here Vic. This sounds like a really cool idea that totally came off. I've been watching a lot of King Crimson videos lately, and this fits right in - very Frippesque and a totally enjoyable listen. My only nit is that it ended! I could have listened to this for quite a while.
Cheers,
N

Not exactly what I'd call noise!

Your stuff is always surprising and so varied.

Nice one
