Description
ATTENTION - There is now a 'sequel', if you will, to this song called "Viltu mín vera?"

This song came to existence on a dare.
At a lecture last monday I heard an old recording (from 1964) of an 84 year old man singing an old folk song of some sort, called "Sjö sinnum það sagt er mér" - which roughly translates to "sevenfold I've been told". Shortly thereafter a friend of mine challenged me to do a dance remix of it - so I did.
The original recording can be found here I suggest you listen to that first.

So, yeah - this is basically just a short joke I threw together last wednesday.
I hope you enjoy it!

Lyrics
Sjö sinnum það sagt er mér,
syngi þetta versið hver,
þeim skal ég gefa
sjö tunnur rauðagulls.

What a Riot!
Of course auto-tune would be the only way to go with this one! I LOVE how you turned the vocal into a duet...and the keys you overlaid, classic.

You really showed your producing talents with this piece, Einarus. I imagine Brittany Spears will be contacting you shortly to help with her new single.

I enjoyed this very much, thanks for posting.

Cool beans! Does the old man know he'a the king of the dance floor? You may have created the next international sensation. Great job to get this put together and very amusing.

I Agree
I think this one has total potential given the story behind it. It's just the sort of thing that needs to be exploited for its full monetary value!!!

Yo Sjö
Really fun. Maybe your friend can lip sync to it on youtube and maybe you'll get 1 million views! Nice song art, too.

If he dared you, did he wager something he'd do if you succeed? Payback time...

would have never guessed this was an old folk song. The autotune effect works great for this. You have some mad talent man. Anything you do sounds good.

How VERY cool to musically connect the dots between THEN... and NOW. Funny how simple serendipity can lead to such inspired work, eh Einar? Enjoy the ride. ;)

This is SO cool! A perfect blend of the old and the new, a bridge between generations, music, and communication. It may have started as a joke, but there's something profound about the whole thing that elevates it. All of MJ should be proud of you for this one!!

Not a Joke!
Einar - wow.

The story behind is super cute, and what you've done is nothing short of brilliant. Thanks for sharing!

Now, please take my suggestion: ask one of your film-maker friends, one of the ones you've done soundtracks for, and have them make a video for youtube. We can all spread it around on the magical internet so the world can see it.
