.. so of course i will like it.

i just took my laundry out off the dryer before logging in........ it was static free for a change.

anyway excellent song. nice and melodic. great guitar tones and playing. i also like the subtle use off the violins here.

The word charming comes to mind. Nice production and mix. I really like the heavily compressed clean electric. The strings are a nice touch that really open things up.

i don't think this is goofy at all
it reminds me of something ben kweller or ben lee might do. i really like the casual style over top of the really tight folk/pop structure. great listen man, I dig it.

Very cool, John. I was surprised when the strings kicked in, but they really fit! Playing games is a huge part of my life. But not the games you're singing about I think :) Nice work with the songwriting, singing and playing, and excellent mix!

I really love hearing you sing - a very infectious sound. I'd probably have mixed the drums up a tad, but the interest is mainly in the vocals and guitars, so no real nit.

Very organic
sounding song. Earthy tones. Sounds pretty like an analog recording to me. I like the melody of the chorus a lot. I would add some vocal doubling and some harmonies would really make this chorus stand out.

John I'm sorta really out of the loop with online music 'n stuff at the moment.

Seriously the tracks of yours I have on my iPhone sustain me, the incredible 'Freeloader' 'Middle Of Nowhere' etc, John no BS you ARE one of my fave artists, so this is a REAL treat to hear the guy formly known as 'TexasFeel' still getting busy and producing superb, and I really DO mean that superb music, I don't know what you do John that resonates so much to my musical tastes, but I'm a total fanboy... jeez I'm almost gushing here, I've been so deprived of new music in a while.

Anyways in conclusion and before the men in the white coats haul me away this is great! :) :) :)

Nothing ..
..goofy. This is really, really excellent John. Guitar playing (as usual) high quality.. but this is a great song: arrangement/placement/structure is extremely well thought out, lyrics are great and your vocals are strong and confident.. this style suits your vocals. Sweet changes and hooks- it has it all. Can't for the life of me figure out the Karate Kid "Crane" maneovre/reference in the pic though .. overall mix sounds great in these headphones. Only thing I could think to add/place is some more vocal harmonies to emphasise some spots or create a little more variation... nice to hear you stretching a bit and going "high" for the last refrain.
