Description
"Not What She Seems" is a song that I began writing about a month ago...I believe that the lyrics speak for themselves regarding what it is all about. My songs sometimes gravitate towards the darker, minor side of things and this was no exception. I was really looking for a groove oriented feel again and think that I captured that. After I completed all of the parts I sent it over to my good friend and collab partner Sigmund. After working on his killer tune "But Seriously" (http://www.macjams.com/song/63947) I asked him to take a listen to this song as I felt it was still lacking some spark. Sig had some great ideas regarding the mix and much to my delight he agreed to add a juicy backing rythym guitar part and a killer solo. He is a true professional and worked hard to mesh the parts over a pretty busy bass line. I will say it again, the talent pool on MacJams is amazing and it's guys like Sigmund that make it a joy to be associated with this site.

This has got a RnB flavor in the verse, then the chorus rocks it up. Reminds me of Steely Dan some. Love that bass especially in the chorus, and that guitar lead break is killer.
